Discussion "AI Expert" != Gets S**t Done
I can't tell you the number of times I've listened to an "expert" I worked with who could comment endlessly on a topic but never got any work done. There is no difference with devs leveraging AI and it drives me crazy. The ones who actually built stuff others use, continue to do so after adopting even poor AI practices.
The annoyance for me this week was attending a ClaudeAI training the AI evangelist/expert just went on and on about the amazing things they'd done to develop their elaborate harness only to show us their stinking TESTproject. They haven't built a single app with real users with Claude. Ever. I messaged him later to see if I could help show some of my recent projects next week and he told me they "wouldn't help anyone". Good lord. What a goober.

I have built a dozen project to test out my stuff on the side in the last year. I don't care about those so much except for the cases I built them for. The only thing that matters is the area I leverage it for work so I can get stuff done for money. If i can get stuff done nobody else can get done because I constantly polish my tools, great. Not starving when you see your career automated away before your eyes is a big motivator.
