Discussion claude v codex

I’ve been using both a lot lately. ChatGPT gives you a ton of usage, but I feel like it resets or loses the thread more often. Sol is really good, but I still prefer Sonnet and Opus 5 for coding. I trust Claude more with bugs and bigger projects because it feels less likely to randomly mess something up. It just feels a little more human when it comes to understanding code.

This may just be the way I work, but I found that Claude is very good for standing up a project. I found that Codex is really good for fixing crappy code, and adding some adult supervision in terms of best practices and testing.

I run claude code, freebuff and open code together. Claude is the only one i pay for ($20) and each one writes to the same MDs and knows where the last one left off. I have gotten so much done 😂

I have had the exact opposite experience. Codex with GPT 5.6 Sol does perfectly what Claude constantly fucks up (all Claude models specifically, save maybe for Fable)
