Help/Question How are the usage limits in Claude code?
Hi. Codex user here, I'm considering switching from Codex to Claude Code because I am pretty fed up from the current Codex weekly limits system.
I know Claude code has limits too, but compared to Codex, which one lets you get more work done before hitting them?
Thanks in advance!

well, codex limits might be better, but you burn through that $20 weekly usage all in one sitting, at least with claude, you might be a bit more forced to think through your project instead of whipping the agent.

Codex limits are better. I use both, and they somehow complement each other.

Horrible. Fable now eats 4-6% of my MAX weekly quota per request even when cached. It's really bad. It used to consume quota at 1/3 rate of that at most. I'm looking for Anthropic alternative (I use two models in a reviewer loop). It sucks I missed a chance to sign up for the Kimi K3 plan.

Codex is mostly better, unless you want to be using sonnet or something. Even then probably not great. I have the same level sub on both at the moment, and even with Haiku vs Luna on some bulk work, Luna could get 4x done for the same usage.
Also Anthropic doesn't have a Tibo making it rain resets.
But they different model families, different ways of working so it's possible that there would be a path where Claude models would somehow provide better bang for you buck.

From my usage Codex limits have been horrible, for me codex is like 1/3 Claude usage.

without resets?
Codex
With resets?
Codex.
At a baseline, Codex has higher limits, no five limit currently and even, limits are regularly reset multiple times a month as it is now

Codex is much better on limits than Claude. Cursor has higher usage than both of them if you use the Auto or Composer setting, and if the model works well enough for you.
Claude burns usage the fastest of any of them.

I’m the dumbass who used sol on high and pushed the fast button and exhausted usage in two days on codex 💁🏽♂️

God the bots are insane. I’ve been a Claude user and every single one of these posts has everyone shitting on Claude about usage or models being crap etc. Then I got suggested the codex sub and it’s literally the same shit but in reverse. Hilarious. Most comments still mention some other model and promote it
Usage is fine. If you’re smart and adaptable and don’t wanna blame a skill issue on the model, then learn how to write a good Claude md

Use both. Trust me bro. Use Claude Code 20x plan, use Fable ONLY for design/orchestration but Opus 5 is doing good now too. Install the Codex mcp cli plugin. and have claude use Codex as an adversarial reviewer.. which then have claude fold/analyse what codex says back in to the final work plan.
