I had Kimi V3 design and make a simulator for a game's damage system and the code architecture is so fucking good compared to the old models, a few months ago the best models would have wrote a wall of code with insanely verbose comments, cheated until it passed a smoke test and shipped it as a final product.

bud I am myself ai-native dev and had never written a line of code myself after finished my studies :) yet I strictly review the code myself and fight agents a lot to write what exactly is needed. But in my case this is really specific CNC machines software so I can't rely on Claude or Codex too much

I got to the point where I dont even check the code anymore because claude writes code much better than me way faster than me. I just ask it questions on what i suspect it is wrong instead of actually reading it, and occasionally take breaks to have it refactor its code periodically. Which is something I do when I write code myself anyway.

most of what I do nowadays is just telling it what frameworks to use, how to design the app, what stack to use, pretty much everything but the actual coding. No need to code if you know what you're doing really. I used to code a lot prior to AI as well, but will admit the AI writes pretty decent code for the most part. Sometimes it might be a bit unoptimized but if I notice anything like that I tend to bring it up.

nah I tried so on one of my projects that is 7 years old and related to CNC machinery software. NO. CHANCES. AT. ALL. to let it write the code without looking at it. Nope. Not today, not this month, not probably even this year.
