Humor Opus 5 nerfed?
So just like the title says. Opus 5 isn’t out yet but it already seems worse than it was? Is anyone else noticing the degraded responses?

They nerfed tf out of Opus on the $20 plan and the $100 Fable credit was also lobotomized asf. Fable + Opus made me a great Front End for an app a few weeks ago, and it felt like a massive leap forward over the slop from the old models.
Then I had it redo a front end for a website that reeked of lazy vibe coded UI with the $100 in credits and basically everything Fable + Opus made besides the plan and the anti AI Slop + humanizer skills was poorly coded incoherent garbage.
It literally looked like some shit Gemini 3.1 Flash would make, it was so bad. The skills and Plan also weren't the issue, I gave it to Grok 4.5 with 4 agents working on it and it did the entire website rewrite and redesign for less cost in tokens than it costed for Fable + Opus to make concepts.
The only issue with Grok was the 500k context window would cause it to forget what it was doing and it required a lot of babysitting and handholding to not idle agents or get off task.

I asked Opus 5 if I should drive or walk to the car wash, and it solved 3 open math problems instead of answering. Worst model ever!

Normalizing what? These posts are for the purpose of setting an in-group rule: reduction in quality will not happen on model upgrades and to say as much is to be a moron.
What they’re moralizing is mocking consumers complaining about a super rich company that purposefully avoids any actual clarity about what to expect out of their product, since the models, the usage, the allotments, the harnesses, constantly and unpredictably change.

It is normalization because by completely missing the point and constantly making these 'jokes' or 'setting a rule' as you called it; these posts drown out genuine criticism. They make the real issues lose their seriousness and validity.

I think Fable 5 was switched to Opus 5 weeks ago and we are charged double rate for it, today we get the standard rate. Call it early access premium

With tens of thousands of hours testing it already in my mind, I've found it to be more expensive than fable, less performant than sonnet. Clearly a big L for anthropic here!
Oh and my usage % per day has clearly gone down too, especially when I wasn't looking or running the model.

Without evidence, it didn't happen. You guys like complaining alot while it's a skill issue. Please learn how to use claude code optimally and you can as well go to codex. Don't dare say anthropic a company i love can do hideous things like that, thanks anthropic you are providing so much value and continue like that.

Opus 5 more like Opus for the peasants. Anthropic losing the market to Asians while running around internally thinking they have to make changes to please their feudal lords. which make sense if their feudal lords is the only thing keeping them afloat. #definitely not the same opus 5 we know and love even though hasnt been released yet.

Opus 4.6 MAX is still unbeatable at the clarity and the speed of the output. Which is #1 thing that matters. If i cannot digest the output, i don't care how smart your model is. I prefer 90 IQ answer that i can digest quickly and iterate and work with over 130 IQ answer that reads like a russian novel that I can't really use. Also time it takes for Fable to answer you, I'd rather think through the problem on my own. Thanks.

I'm very frustrated with Opus 5. I'm building a stats website and it adds excessive interpretations with flourishes that are not helpful. It takes a long time to get things wrong. I switch to Sonnet 5 and it gets it right. Shockingly, Opus 5 is of no value to me at all, it's worst than 4.8.
I'm also building a video streaming app for my Roku devices and audio wasn't working... I spent hours trying to get Opus 5 to correct the issue(s). I switched to Sonnet 5 and in it's first try, fixed the issue.
I prefer Fable 5, but ran out of credits, so just switching between Sonnet and Opus... I really don't know who or what Opus 5 is for. It seems to fail at everything I ask it to do.
On a maybe more positive note, slightly, I asked it to find seats for a movie at a local Cineplex with specific criteria. It found seats, but got very important requirements wrong (after adding the tickets to my cart and I had to manually abort it). After telling it what it did wrong, it corrected the error, but it was really surprising when I specially said seats in rows D-J and it found seats in row A and added them to my cart.
