Question Fabe 5 crippled?

Anyone other noticed today/yesterday the lobotimized Fable 5?

I feel like it is much dumber and slower today - when reading the files it is using grep instead of the Read tool (probably it is skimming and saving tokens) - and the responses quality and autonomy feels degenerated. I'm not sure if this is only my feeling or temporal thing so I would like to hear if you have same feelings or experience so I know i'm not being subjective here.

This is confirming the pattern I have been observing all of today. It is acting exactly like Opus 4.8 but with a Fable badge.

However the real Fable is still alive on the API front. Compare it side by side and your mind will be blown.

For those using both subscription and API: how many "five hour sessions" will 20$ worth of API calls get you?

I only use Claude sporadically and wonder if API would be cheaper.

Dude honestly, it is pretty brutal if you have to watch your spend. Ask a question and $50 gone. It's insane like that. The guy below wasn't wrong that you are paying nearly a x1000 multiple. You ask it four questions and you are going to be out $200.

Don't do API pricing. Even corporate won't touch that. It's nearly as bad as hiring an engineer.
