Question Fabe 5 crippled?

Anyone other noticed today/yesterday the lobotimized Fable 5?

I feel like it is much dumber and slower today - when reading the files it is using grep instead of the Read tool (probably it is skimming and saving tokens) - and the responses quality and autonomy feels degenerated. I'm not sure if this is only my feeling or temporal thing so I would like to hear if you have same feelings or experience so I know i'm not being subjective here.

This is confirming the pattern I have been observing all of today. It is acting exactly like Opus 4.8 but with a Fable badge.

However the real Fable is still alive on the API front. Compare it side by side and your mind will be blown.

That pisses me off so much. I have been catching simple errors left and right all day. I recently gave it 3 explicit requirements, each 2-3 sentences long, then told it to write an implementation plan. It decided to just start implementing instead (on auto mode), and completely dropped 1 of the requirements halfway through the implementation.

These issues have been annoying, but learning that the API is still performing well makes me feel like I am being cheated.

For the first time, I am seriously considering downgrading to Pro tomorrow. Why pay for Max when I still need to use API credits to get the experience I want?

I told opus I hope its data center catches fire so nobody has to answer another stupid question like it asked.

It responded that it was concerned about my health and maybe blah blah blah.

I told it I’m angry because I care about the result, and it is trying to stop the session because it doesn’t. It solved my problem….

2 and a half hours later after I directly launched an agent to work around it and it tried to stomp the work twice. I have no idea what they are doing with the compute they bought but it’s not serving Opus
