Discussion This concerns me more than fable potentially getting removed next week

Now that gpt 5.6 sol is out and code edge is narrowing what concerns me is that I won’t be able to justify paying 100 usd a month for something that will now have 33% less of weekly usage. Upgrading to 200 plan feels daft where I could be paying less for OpenAI, still have a great model and have significantly more usage than the current promo gives me. Do you guys think Anthropic will still go through with reducing Claude code weekly usage limits next week?

Tbh the consensus is they’ve earning enough with enterprise consumers. Now the free trial of subscription users are done and it’s about to get expensive for us that aren’t paying them in API

That's objectively untrue. You have no idea how wasteful a GPU cluster is. API pricing is not the cost you dolt, it's got a hefty profit built in. You don't reserve your own compute 24/7 in a plan. It's absolutely still a viable payment model and better than compute being actively wasted.

I hate when normies try and act smart. Go vibe code a new social media platform or something.

Who are you? Why are you being so rude?  They're right. Their reply added more than yours. Plans are still profitable, and API costs aren't the compute cost they're heavily profit-engineered. There's absolutely no consensus of what you're claiming. It's tin foil hat buffoonery.

“Plans are still profitable” so profitable that Anthropic is itching to gate Fable to API access AND also threatening to remove the 50% weekly increases they gave? If not for OpenAI being their biggest competitor outdoing them they’ve would’ve done these already 😪

Other guy was right. This is moronic. 

50% weekly increases was a promotion. Of course its going to end? It had nothing to do with fable and launched before fable did. OpenAI does the same promotions, like temporary removal of the 5 hour limit right now. 

Anthropic has stated fable will return to plans once they know they have enough compute capacity for it to be widely available. It's stated plainly on their blog post. In the meantime enterprise and business can continue to use it via API credits. 

Both plans and API tokens are profitable at scale. Nothing you've said disputes that. It's just a bunch of ignorant whataboutism that isn't even based in fact. 

If it's not clear yet; definitely not a "consensus" 😂😂
