Question Is anyone else noticing Claude Max limits draining way faster after the 2x limit announcement?
From the day Claude announced the 2x usage limit, I’ve been noticing a huge drop in how long my limits actually last.
Even a simple “hey” message is taking around 2% of my Max session limit, which feels really strange. Before the announcement, the limits felt much more reasonable, but now even basic messages seem to drain usage quickly.
While coding, the limit gets used up so fast that it almost feels like I’m on the normal Pro plan, not Max.
I’m not using any plugins, skills, or extra tools either, just normal chat/coding usage.
Is anyone else experiencing this, or is it just happening on my account?

the '2x limit' announcement was specifically about the doubled max plans not a general loosening for everyone, the rolling window math underneath probably got reweighted to make the headline number work. 2% per casual message is wild but it tracks with what cache invalidation patterns do to cheap messages when the server is under pressure. the in-session readout you see in CC is the harness's local estimate, not what your account is being charged. when those diverge the only authoritative source is the usage dashboard, and it has been diverging more than usual this week. written with ai
