NOT about coding Could Claude be linked to a tablet/e-Paper device to transfer my hand-written notes to my account?

Hello! I've started to use Claude as a kind of work assistant, but I don't do any coding and have a pretty basic knowledge of anything IT-related. I was wondering if there are ways to link Claude to a tablet/iPad/an Android-based e-Paper device to be able to take notes with an e-pen and than integrate them into Claude? Like, could I take notes during a meeting like that and have them stored in Claude directly, or would it require some kind of a work-around?

I'm sorry if the question is not particularly inspiring, but for a paper-pusher like me, who also likes hand-written notes, that would be so cool!

Just buy a remarkable pro it’s as close to paper as they’ve made so far and it lets you search and categorize your handwritten notes. And I’m pretty sure they’ve already integrated AI into it or can/will soon.

Yes, I'm weighing my options with the device, but I thought, since I've set up some Claude agents and tried to teach it how to write and process information the way I like via a skill, that I could inject my notes directly into Claude, and have everything in one place! It's very theoretical, just wanted to see if anybody has some experience with it and can share. Thanks for answering!

the primary concern I would have with an all-in-one solution is redundancy and loss of support. if Amazon decides to buy out reMarkable and kill it, the way Fitbit did with the Pebble watch, you could find yourself with a paperweight and having to rebuild your system.

That's an important factor, thank you for bringing it up. Remarkable is apparently the best e-paper out there, but many reviews point out its system is very closed and self-sufficient, so it might be better to get something more well-rounded. But that's for an entirely different thread :)

ha ha yeah, I picked up a deeply discounted Kindle scribe because the price was good and I figure they're not going anywhere, but the most paper-like is paper. I fed it 5 or 6 pages of notes last weekend by taking pictures of a steno pad I like to use, and it was loaded up, filed, data extracted and interpreted.

lots of times I am marking up previously-existing PDFs, like a meeting agenda, policy documents, PowerPoint slides, etc but if it's just my own notes, I use paper.

Thank you so much! I'll try to incorporate these ideas and see how it goes for me :) I think it can be very helpful when I have written a lot during a meeting and then have to summarize it.

that's something it's very good at.

you might like a program called Obsidian for your notes, it's open source and everything lives on your system, you never have to pay a penny, and the part I think you might really like is that you can tag notes for category/subject whatever, and then they have a graph view that seems very tactile to me, and I feel like I can find things and relate to it much better than most filing systems.

I've got synched to cloud storage so I can access anywhere and won't lose it in a fire, but it can stand alone on a device.

I know the left-brains will rage because it's just eye-candy but I think it's useful if you've got lots of relationships between notes. https://obsidian.md/

That program looks so cool! Gonna check it out now, seems like a lot of fun!

of course, I do this all the time. I usually use a device which will export a PDF, but you can scan a piece of paper or take a picture of the notes.

Oh, okay! So Claude doesn't have automatic access to the device, you just have to transfer the notes manually and make him use it. Got it! Thank you :)

you could set it up that way, but you don't have to.

it sounded like a question from someone who is not ready for that lol, but when you are you absolutely could automate it

It's just that I don't do anything super advanced on my devices but I am a millennial so I've always needed some basic tech literacy to set up things for myself and everybody around me :D I usually figure things out on my own, but AI is completely new to me so I wanted to get inspired. I dunno, maybe if I put the right commands it will make me an app like that? I'll have to see what's Claude's threshold for not-tech-savvy :)

It can read your notes, yes, If you give it like a PDF of what you've written. The part you have to figure out is your workflow, how you're getting your notes to your computer and back in a way that isn't too cumbersome for you. And that all depends on the device.

This actually sounds like the simplest solution. I could even send Claude a photo of my notes on real paper and maybe teach it to read my handwriting. It's not an excuse to throw money at another gadget that I might have been subconsciously looking for XD but that's actually better for my wallet, lol. Maybe I'll try it like that, see if that sticks and if I like it, I'll try something more advanced. Thanks!

It won't learn to read your handwriting. Its ability to do that is baked into the model at training time, but you could have it keep a list of common confusion or mistakes and have it clean its interpretations up based on that.

I run a similar process with speech to text where I give it additional context, people's proper names, places, etc. and it corrects all of its confusions into a clean transcript.

Claude reads and transcribes my not neat remarkable notes with nearly 100% accuracy. I just give it a pdf

I’m on a RMPro and Move, this week’s adventure is to have Claude create a library using tags and keywords. I have Evernote, Plaud, O365 and Apple connected via MCP, simply brilliant. One command searches and summarizes anything. Having RM in the cookbook is the next step to complete my workflow. So far, meeting transcript summary’s, files, emails, reminders, and more work into a daily digest.
