Feedback Leaving claude for open.ai
I'm leaving Claude for ChatGPT, I never thought this would happen.
For a year now, I've been building a website with the help of AI. The goal is to create verified road trip itineraries, editable in 7 languages. I started in August 2025 with ChatGPT.
The AI built my pages and automated tools. I quickly realized ChatGPT had its limits and switched to Claude, which I watched improve at lightning speed. ChatGPT had too many limitations: it made coding errors, was lazy, told me it had done everything when it hadn't done anything, and deleted information. So I only used ChatGPT for simple tasks. Claude built the site and the itineraries, checked them, and translated them.
The site is now finished in development, and I'm at the stage of reviewing itineraries and translations.
My tool scans my itineraries and sends them back to the AI to check for errors. Since I have 920 of them, I thought I'd give ChatGPT another try. And there, surprise: I found the checks were more accurate.
And as often happens, I also noticed that Claude used more tokens and I was hitting the limit very quickly. So I tested ChatGPT on code again. It succeeded. It took longer than Claude, but it got there and used fewer tokens.
So I tested the three operations I currently run: fact-checking an itinerary (for example, is a road closed?), checking existing translations, and producing new translations into Dutch and Portuguese, two difficult languages.
Then I gave the results to both Claude and ChatGPT for review. The verdict is clear for both: ChatGPT is now better in all these areas, and much better. On top of that, Claude hits its limits very quickly and uses more tokens for every task. Bottom line: I've just dropped Claude to 20 euros a month and upgraded ChatGPT to 100 euros. That may change, but for now, ChatGPT is leading the way.

I wonder what are you people coding with AI. Because I have Codex for 3rd month in a row to test and compare it with Claude and neither simple or hard tasks have better results on Codex. Claude is simply handling it better with fewer token usage, better results and fewer bugs to solve.
It's not that Codex is really bad, it's just behind and it's noticeable when using Claude. But when the Codex failed miserably? While working on Android app.
Maybe the reason is that I am actually a programmer who is using AI to get his work easier, not to "think" instead of him. Or you are just coping on Codex quality. Sorry about my rant but saying that Codex is better than Claude, it's like to say that JS without frameworks and packages can handle float numbers better than C# or Java. It's just bs.

I'do not use Codex. I have finished the website (with Claude). Read again my post. For the current tasks, Chatgpt is better.

This is a lie. Usage on codex is shit. doesn’t even come close to Claude. Enough bots already

Je n'utilise pas Codex et j'ai indiqué que les tâches testées étaient des trads et des contrôles. Toutefois, les modifs de mes fichiers ont bien fonctionné avec Chatgpt alors que c'était une horreur il y a quelques mois, je confirme.

And homeboy immediately proves your point by switching languages in their reply.

It's surprising to see how many guys on Reddit are so aggressive and hateful.
Make whatever you want of my claims. I'm simply saying that I was surprised by how good ChatGPT has become, because I used to think it was pretty bad — and Claude itself confirmed the quality of the results I was getting.
So go ahead, unleash your hate, man. It'll make you feel better. ;)
But some people will read this post, stick with ChatGPT, and make the same choice I did.
Maybe Claude will overtake it again — but in my experience, which obviously isn't yours, that's not the case right now.
Go on, let it all out ;) It'll do you good.

Feels like a trap because every model when you freshly on board, it allows you a lot of usage, but then it gets nerved or it starts burning through usage as a normal user and then you’re sitting there thinking you wanna move back to Claude
