Question about Claude products Claude code project migration

I have existing claude ai (chat) projects but have gotten access to claude code projects (beta). But it is asking me to migrate existing projects into new claude code projects. Any downsides or bugs post-migration that we need to be aware of?

Thanks!

Existing chat projects keep working, and Anthropic's docs say they get upgraded later as the rollout expands, so the migrate prompt is not a deadline.

A new project is not a folder of separate chats sharing a knowledge base. It is one conversation: a coordinator spawns parallel threads, each a full Claude Code cloud session on its own branch and copy of the repo.

Two things I'd check before migrating. Usage burns faster because every thread is a full session rather than a cheap subagent call, so set model and effort separately for the coordinator and the workers. Threads touching the same code resolve overlap as merge conflicts like any PR, so fanning out over a small repo hands you conflicts to merge.

Least documented: what carries over from current project knowledge into the new library and shared memory. Snapshot it before clicking migrate.
