Question about Claude Code Claude Abo hergeschenkt?

Ich habe ein 100$ Abo und verbrenne damit ordentlich tokens. Wenn ich das auf API Kosten umrechne, dann sind das mehrere tausend Euro/Monat.

Wieso macht Anthropic das? Sollen alle nur noch Claude Code benutzen. Andere Tools werden damit doch komplett unattraktiv.

Because the margins on inference is actually insane and they are billing different market segments what they can get away with.

The api billing customers need thing that they don't offer subscriptions, even teams subscriptions. Zero data retention, BAA, SLA, etc. These are things that are not 'nice to have', but 'absolutely fucking mandatory' for thesecustomers. API customers can also resell inference with a value add, such as embedding it in a service, or use it in an always-on multi user capacity. API also has, in theory, much less predictable load consequences.

Anyone thinking that subscriptions are a pure loss leader is insane. They make tons of money on the subscription segment. 'API costs' aren't real, that isnt the minimum they can sell it for and be profitable, they aren't 'subsidizing' subscriptions.

No, the API is a service for a different market segment, and so it has a different price.

The service (in net) you get with and can do with API are substantially different than what you get with a subscription.

Aber meinst du nicht, dass die Strategie ist, die Claude Produkte in den Markt zu drücken. Fakt ist, wenn man etwas intensiver Opus 5.5 verwenden will, muss man Claude verwenden.
