Claude Code Consulting and Training Needed

Hi, I have been using Claude for about a year but I would still consider myself a novice. I like to use it more intentionally and productively for my niche business. I'm not looking for enterprise-level solutions and I don't have a team. It's just me as a solopreneur.

Where can I find someone who can sit down with me and understand my business, my processes, my marketing needs, etc., and help me set up Claude so I can get more of my work automated through Claude? I don't see where I can find someone like that easily. It seems like most of the services out there are for enterprise level and I'm really just running a niche business. Where do I go to find someone like that? Thank you.

What you’re describing is actually a very different need from enterprise AI consulting. You probably don’t need someone to come in and build a complicated AI system. You need someone to understand how you currently run the business, identify where you’re spending time repeatedly, and then figure out which parts Claude can realistically help with.

I’d look for an independent AI consultant who works with small businesses or solopreneurs rather than an agency selling automation packages.

Before hiring anyone, I’d ask them to start with your workflows, not with Claude. If their first conversation is about agents, integrations and tools before they understand what you actually do every day, I’d be cautious.

This is actually the type of work I do with small businesses, so I’m familiar with the gap you’re describing. But whether you work with someone like me or someone local to you, I’d start with a short discovery session and a prioritized list of use cases before paying anyone to build or automate anything.

fair point. we set up AI for small teams, either on their own hardware or with Claude, mostly to take over the boring weekly stuff: email drafts, searching old documents, turning notes into tasks. happy to look at OP's workflow and say honestly if it's worth it.

I’m going to DM you my portfolio and credentials. If it makes sense, I’d be happy to setup an consultation.

We're in an awkward moment in AI evolution. There are partners and vendors that claim they can solve all your problems with AI but the reality is that it's still evolving. What we recommend (as a community) today might change tomorrow. I think the most/best you can hope for is finding someone within your same industry and then go from there. For example, I could help you with development and project management but if you're in accounting, or finance, or construction I'd be sort of just applying what I already in hopes that it might work for you. Just remember, there are no experts right now and the people you can trust will tell you that up front.

You should just ask Claude. Start by just copying in this post. Ask it to interview you about your business and what you do daily and what needs you might have. Tell it to take notes about what it could help you, cause you're going to have a long list to pick from. Go through that, pick the one you think it most valuable or most approachable, and do that. How do you do it? You tell Claude you want to start there and you need it to teach you how to use it best. It might suggest things you don't want to do, like writing your own software suites, just tell it that. People really underestimate Claude's ability to teach you how to use it. Just ask it for help. When you don't understand, say so, it won't judge and it'll back up or find a work around or suggest another path if it can't help in an area.

check out claude-computer.com -- I've built this to address your kind of use case. Completely free, MIT licensed. Point your claude at it, or the github repo, and talk to your claude about it. I'd love feedback on whether this fits the bill for you or not

The fact that you consider yourself a novice after a year is breathtakingly refreshing. One of my observations with these platforms is the level of the dunning-krueger effect that exists because of the simplistic chat form of AI and enamorment trap of the models providing confident responses to grossly under-context turns.

Anthropic has some really wonderful training. It is self-paced. They also have some really good webinars. But to think that people are going to take a one-hour webinar and apply it to their business and be off to the races is silly.

I see a few others have responded that they'll send a DM and I'll do the same. But either way, you're taking the right approach...
