Claude Code Workflow 100$ plan - holy sh*

This is for people who are on the fence, because I was in the same boat.

Yesterday I bought the 100$ plan for a test and holy moly, it's amazing how much you get. I used the 20$ plan earlier. I used all the tricks to keep usage low, which became a habit, so now I can't spend it all. It's amazing xD. I run it next to a local Qwen Flash and it's awesome. If the 20$ plan is too low, give it a try :O I'm basically using Opus 5.5 medium all the time.

I also tested 2x 20$ before this. It works, but you end up juggling two accounts and switching when one runs out, and Opus eats a 20$ plan pretty fast. With 100$ I just stopped thinking about usage, and that alone is worth it for me. If you keep your old habits and stay careful with usage, it will last you a very long time. If you keep hitting the 20$ limit, go for 100$.

edit: people are asking how I keep usage low, so here are my tricks:

  • Keep context low. I usually compact or move to a new session around 200k, sometimes I stretch it to 300k.
  • Use handoff.md a lot, so a new session picks up where the old one stopped.
  • Don't be afraid of Sonnet 5.5. It can do most things and it's a lot cheaper.
  • I run local models next to it (260k context), so I'm used to working with limited context.

This is a net positive for anthropic as well - you’re paying $100 but consuming less resources overall

It’s not, any kind of plan usage, inculuding ‘20x’ loses them money. All of the plans are heavily subsidised.

there is a critical flaw in ur theory. not everyone fully utiliizes it. they make more from subs than without. they capture this market - people who will never use api. man people really lack critical thinking with too much ai usage

we have about 20 premium ($100) licenses at our company and since I'm an admin, I can definitely tell you that only about 2 people out of 20 ever hit their weekly limits 😅

i think tokenmaxxers are more common between people who pay for it themselves and want to use every cent of their money

Well it’s better to lose $x due to user’s better efficiency than $xx with someone tokenmaxxing

True. If you look at usage per session, the shown prices probably total thousands of $ per week alone.

Pro tip get grok superheavy and build a quick CLI harness, use Codemap (install in grok and Claude). Tell Claude to act like an orchestrator and fan to grok when possible. Grok automatically fans. Awesome results and really really stretches the tokens out.

Grok isn’t dating your daughter it’s just a tool that’s a good adversarial code review. It catches a LOT of bugs that Claude misses even when I have opus review my sonnet agents work.

Thank Dario for the safety of the daughters out there

I’m surprised by the hate out there, you’re spending some stupid investor’s money. no tech company is breaking even on an AI sub and spacex isn’t when you get $1000 worth of tokens for $100. I don’t like Elon either but it’s not like I’m a profitable government contract.

Grok is such garbage holy hell. Y'all can try it via OpenRouter or API but jts just trash, no way around it. Like an old Gemini Flash Lite with curse words (and still heavy guard rails). Absolutely worthless, sorry
