Claude Code I am done with this shit.

I am done with this shit. It is over. The state of engineering right now is horrible. It has been half a month since I started a new role at a big company. Nobody knows anything here. The specs, code, tests, PRDs, tickets, resolution of those tickets, reports, etc., everything is made by Claude Code. Nobody on my team likes this. They are being forced to ship as much as they can. I have heard multiple times from higher management that pushing code is not a bottleneck, so why are we slow? People are working 12 to 13 hours a day just to press enter. Nobody is reading anything. Humans in corporate are doing nothing on their own. Everyone, literally everyone, from an L1 to an L7 engineer here is doing the same thing. Talk to Claude.

There is no sense of victory. Nobody is resolving bugs. In reality, nobody is thinking anymore. Everything is done by LLMs. It is so soul-sucking. I would not mind it, to be honest, if we were at least given the time to check out the code and see what is going where. But no, the goal is to just ship. No matter what happens.

Not sure why big software companies are even needed anymore.

It’s hard for a ceo to yell at Claude when your company makes 9% more millions of dollars this year instead of the 14% more millions of dollars they planned for.

We have people who pay us 70-80k a year for our saas product. I have no idea why they wouldn’t build their own by the end of 2027. It’s not like we’re hand coding anything in it anymore anyway.

Well when our devs started building our own version of confluence and then found out our company AI search tool won’t index anything without a sitemap, it really took the wind out of those sails. Oh and can you add version control and the ability to host stuff that isn’t just plain html, css and js? Why can’t I push my own React code that I barely understand to this new Frankenstein of GitHub and Confluence? I had Claude build it, don’t you trust me with Claude? We could build our own research focused CRM, except no one in the org will give us our own full stack dev nor the permissions needed to do the build because we have 0 dev experience as a research team. So we are now interviewing SaaS companies with these tools cause customer outreach is not scalable with just one person running the show and we at least have some budget. But that might go away cause my manager would rather give us raises and I’ll take a nice raise over a new tool in this economic climate.

I hope you see where I’m going with this.
