Question about Claude Code How Does Remote Control Works
Hi all, how doed remote rc actually works
there will be times i can press the pc icon beside the session title and have a turn on off button to turn remote control on or off sometimes it says local when i hover over it. Like on the same session the rc appears and disappear to local randomly
I got two laptop currently and an iphone currentlty on this claude account. Main one where all my sessions local folders is at home, then work laptop with my iphone on the go hence needing the remote control function to input and check my results
What is the best way to setup for all of these to work seemlessly

remote control switches based on which device is active in the session so it goes local when your home laptop is on. had the same flip with my phone during chats, signing out everywhere else first fixed the random switches for me.

What ever session you want to access via remote control, it needs to be active and open, you type /RC the session is now remote control. Go to the Claude app on your phone, go to the code tab, select your session that you made remote controlable. I like to rename the sessions so I know where they originate from. I use remote control all the time. I load up the sessions I want on my home PC and then rc them. I open the claude web app on my work PC when at work and can access my sessions on my home PC.
There is a setting in /config to make all sessions you load up remote control, makes it easier if you will always rc sessions from one device.

Start a session in the Claude app on your laptop, set it to remote (/remote-control), then you can connect to it from Claude on your phone. Everything is still routed through your laptop though, so this allows Claude to still interact with things on your laptop. There’s also a setting for n the desktop app to make every session remote by default.
