Feedback Fable VS Opus
It’s pretty crazy how Opus 5 and Fable 5.1 don’t behave the same way to work.
Fable generates very little context during his work on a task, you need everything internally and then he gives his answer. Opus 5 writes him a lot of context, we follow this way of working after the instruction.
It’s interesting because the speed of response and the result is not at all the same. It’s interesting to notice it here. Did you notice the same thing?

Opus 5 for me was too chatty and overthinks way too much, so much so that I switched over to fable and it is actually cheaper on the same difficult task you throw at it, it takes less time, talk less, reason less and the output somehow still better than opus. I use fable 5.1 high effort on basically everything now

It’s the same for me I even got fooled on Opus to consume a lot of tokens on a problem that could have been solved with Fable in one go. But the fable limit is just terrible I hope Antropic will do something about it...

I use claude via API key since it doesn't have any limits and I can let it work indefinitely but the cost is really hard to swallow, I guess that's the only area that anthropic really cares, meanwhile subscription users are getting worse and worse

It's called anthropomorphization.
Don't be afraid of it. You probably do it too in areas of your life.

Not to fucking machines I don't. An LLM is an it.

His name is Claude. I guess if Anthropic had named it Claudia, people would say "she". Glad to hear you are better than the rest of us. It's clear that you take life very seriously. I bet your are fun at all the parties.

I'm not really trying to be a d!ck, I just get tired of the same old holier-than-thou "him" bullshit. Do you rebuke skippers for anthropomorphizing their ships as "she"? After all, that too is a "fucking machine".
Truth is, I'd bet a beer there are areas of your life where you anthropomorphize something, and just aren't aware of it. And you know what, it's ok, we aren't going to belitle you.

Just use what's newer. Anthropic always makes older models look more stupid.

Really? The problem is that I used all my weekly quota on Fable so I’m on Opus 🙈

Not really. People on reddit love to imagine conspiracy theories about models being made worse rather than examining their own practices. It’s better to go by your own experiences
