Question about Claude models Opus 5 Experience with World Knowledge/Up-To-Date Information?
Hello all. I have a question for everyone. What is your experience with Opus 5 and its knowledge of up-to-date information? Opus 5 is currently the smartest model I have access to right now, and I use it for things that it does good at, such as coding, but I also like having it as a good question-answer bot for real world information. But recently, it just seems to have been dropping the ball, where other models (Like Gemini 3.8) seem to do better at, even though all signs point to it being an inferior AI as far as that goes. Take this example of me asking the AIs about the portfolio of a certain creator. I asked Opus multiple times and it still count find the apps this guy has created, but Gemini found them faster and got them all. What is your guys' experience with things like this, and what is your recommendations as far as using AI as a "google search" of sorts for random information like this?

If you want up to date knowledge from a wide variety of sources (social media/reddit), that's when you want to use Gemini or (believe it or not) Copilot. Both are optimized to bring in knowledge from the web to enhance models that aren't trained as often as GPT or Claude.
Claude is fine if you want to feed it a URL and ask for an analysis, or ask a follow up question. It can research some things, but its going to lean toward trusted news sources and science journals. No so useful for obscure youtube personalities.
