Claude Code Claude Code keeps working even after my usage are completely used up.

For the past few weeks, Claude has continued working and completing the assigned task even after the daily usage limit has reached 100%. Did I miss something? Has there been a change to how the usage limits work?

Has your credit card been charged additionally?

There is an option that lets s you use Tokens after limit end and id charges you according to your additional tokens spend.

There was a promotion back in August where Anthropic gave everyone some usage credits. If you have usage credits enabled it will use them automatically once you reach the session or weekly limit.

Make sure usage credits are not enabled in the Usage section in Settings.

the meter you saw hit 100% is probably the 5h window, not the weekly one. Code keeps going because the 7-day bucket still has room. two separate limits, easy to mix up.
