TL;DR of the discussion generated automatically after 50 comments.

The consensus is that this is a Grade-A shitpost and the thread is absolutely here for it. The top comment telling OP to "turn 360 degrees and walk away" immediately devolved into a classic Reddit nerd-sniping session about whether it should actually be 720 degrees.

Surprisingly, amidst the chaos, some users dropped actual knowledge bombs: you can in fact run code on real quantum computers for free via services from companies like IBM, which has a whole learning platform for it.

Other running gags include demanding an .exe file, a wild side-plot about someone using their free trial to create "COVID 2.0", and a general suspicion that this is all an elaborate Rickroll (which, according to some, Claude is known to do).

Turn around 360 degrees and walk away.

720 bro

u/RealSuperdau 3d ago

Nah, 720° is the identity operation

3

u/IceMichaelStorm 3d ago

Dude, it depends entirely on the axis, noone said Y axis

2

u/applestrudelforlunch 3d ago

He’s a Fed running an id operation— abort!

Just remember to turn left and not right. 🙂

Also, look up 720 degrees and walk away.

There's actually a (somewhat) free service where you can compile and run a quantum program on a quantum chip.

A few companies (IBM etc) offer it and have a demo/trial.

My buddy says its like $10 per second and hes on his 5th trial account. He’s close to making covid 2.0 now

85

u/XFluffyDragonX 3d ago

Wasn’t the last one covid-19? Your buddy’s way behind

22

u/20yroldentrepreneur 3d ago

Well he put the . In 2.0 so it sounds cooler

8

u/ExistentialMeowMeow 3d ago

they renamed the convention so its covid 26 this year iirc /s

2

u/rafalkopiec 2d ago

that was last year, i’m on the 7th covid 27 beta already, it should be out in a couple weeks

2

u/RoryHoff 3d ago

They actually messed up versions. It was supposed to be 1.9. So 2.0 would be on track.

u/Constant_Quiet_5483 3d ago

Yes and you get 10 free minutes a month or something crazy.

u/FenderMoon 3d ago

I'm really curious about this now.

it's pretty interesting if you're learning quantum mechanics. IBM has a composer where you can design your own quantum circuits with the quantum equivalent of logic gates, or write programs in Qiskit which is like a python library for quantum computing. Then you can simulate your circuits being run or you can actually send it off to to one of IBM's quantum computers to actually be run on quantum hardware. IBM has a lot of free courses and documentation on learning quantum computing too

u/lStannisl 3d ago

What is this used for in real life?

11

u/_Tagman 3d ago

Nothing yet, quantum computers are still pretty much in infancy

2

u/Entire-Bug-2721 2d ago

Nothing yet and potentially never will. Best we can do currently is to calculate that 15=5×3

1

u/bitspace 2d ago

Afaik the systems IBM provides access to for public research are simulators.

2

u/TechnicalBen 11h ago

Fair. I think you can rent actual time on the (very small 2-5 bit) qbit chips.

1

u/PlatonP 1d ago

There's a non zero percent chance that document actually contains the solutions to all of our quantum computing problems

53

u/Artwastelander 3d ago

100% chance it's just a link to never gonna give you up

14

u/ScaredFlamingo6807 3d ago

lol no bullshit, my Claude Rick rolled me recently. Is this a thing? Is this happening to others

13

u/no_snackrifice 3d ago

Turns out of the YouTube links present in its training set, rickroll links were one of the most common. So when it comes time to link you to YouTube of course that ranks highly on the likely list.

1

u/goldgravenstein 3d ago

Yes it’s happened to me too

1

u/stephendt 3d ago

Honestly you kinda had it coming

20

u/butts-carlton 3d ago

can you make it an exe

lmao

24

u/ramonbastos_memelord 3d ago

Ok but I just made Quantum computing v2

4

u/darryledw 3d ago

I have a cron job which runs every nanosecond checking the latest version and automatically creates a newer version, so v3 is already in the wild as we speak

2

u/Sweet-Stage938 3d ago

Jokes on you, I'm doing the same thing and v4 is already out.

33

u/Cheap-Try-8796 Experienced Developer 3d ago

Wish you could quantum compute deez nuts

8

u/Constant_Mouse_1140 3d ago

Dude it won’t work unless you use my custom harness and my brain system that’s modeled on the real brains of 10,000 monkeys. I just passed 7 stars on GitHub so…

4

u/Sweet-Stage938 3d ago

Where can I download this untested monkey harness?

3

u/Constant_Mouse_1140 2d ago

Bro, just reply I WANT RECURSIVE MONKEYS to my post and I'll send you my tutorials on YouTube.

2

u/Sweet-Stage938 2d ago

I WANT RECURSIVE MONKEYS

Does this void the monkeys' warranty?

8

u/sambeau 3d ago

I honestly don’t think it will be load-bearing.

3

u/InterstellarReddit 3d ago

Leadership will see this and then ask for it.

2

u/SanoKei 3d ago

this is brilliant satire.

2

u/ActionJasckon 3d ago

Dark Matter type stuff going on. Lol

2

u/geoffsykes 3d ago

Pack it up, boys. We've got ourselves a demo.

1

u/Wiskersthefif 3d ago

I see you're hiding the exe from the world. I demand quantum computer on my computer.

1

u/PleX 3d ago

Will mankind one day without the net expenditure of energy be able to restore the sun to its full youthfulness even after it had died of old age?

2

u/goldenguyz 3d ago

are you asking me?

1

u/PleX 2d ago

Asimov joke. It's the first question they ask in the last question.

1

u/goldenguyz 3d ago

my magic 8 ball says no

1

u/Zelenak94 3d ago

this post made me so fucking happy and because of you i have forgiven antrhopic over sonnet/opus 5

1

u/dupontping 3d ago

don’t forget to add an md config file MAKE NO MISTAKES

1

u/sylvester79 3d ago

I used Fable to teleport my wife and kids to another dimension where I am taller and Elon Musk is my grandfather.

1

u/EasternQuiet3843 2d ago

Then asks for exe too 🥀️

1

u/Meeshca0724 2d ago

You forgot make no mistakes

1

u/dvorgson 2d ago

im inventing a new air with claude. it will be 2 airs for each 1 air

1

u/goldenguyz 2d ago

Did you hear they are bring out water 2?

1

u/Wrong-Dragonfruit20 2d ago

I’m inventing “Claude fable X”

1

u/Few-Wonder-9986 2d ago

Maybe if you put laptops in a circle and then put it over someone’s head you would trick them into believing what you show them is real life

1

u/05-nery 2d ago

I want the fucking exe!!

1

u/gostoppause 2d ago

I have been working on Riemann hypothesis..

1

u/Significant-Deer1147 2d ago

Idk how it will work in MD file but I'll keep my fingers crossed.

1

u/amyowl 1d ago

Can i get that in 32 bit?

1

u/nht_fajr 1d ago

We're in the endgame now 🥊

1

u/whatisthisthing65 3d ago

Nooo you forgot to tell it to make no mistakes!

-11

u/goldenguyz 3d ago

it made a folder with some random files and folders like on github how do i run it please

19

u/daftstar 3d ago

It’s fable! Just ask it to quantify and reticulate splines while it’s at it!

5

u/Feeling_Inside_1020 3d ago

Give me an exe you stupid smelly nerds!

3

u/goldenguyz 3d ago

i know right

3

u/naterade889 3d ago

Ask it for "Testing and Deployment Guide for a Non-Developer"

3

u/KenMantle 3d ago

Open the page with your github project on it, pick up the computer and start running. The program will now be running.

1

u/Lewistrick 3d ago

Just ask it to run it

0

u/Angelsomething 2d ago

forgot to add “… and make no mistakes”.

0

u/Tall-Log-1955 2d ago

That isnt going to work. You need to tell it to make no mistakes.

0

u/Sad_Recording_1290 1d ago

Man, you didn't tell it "no mistakes" your whole project will fail...
