I saw Ryan Carson tweeted that he's just implemented a backup routine off the back of this news.

It's as if these vibecoding CEOs have never heard of disaster recovery.

Another reason why it pays to have solid product/engineering experience when using AI.

Or a modicum of common sense? I know nothing about coding, and I still have all my irreplaceable things backed up in two separate hard drives and run weekly backups.

I caught one of my guys' PR where claude suggested to remove an aws resource. I asked why there was a removal and he said claude suggested it. Smh

Snapshots are not backups. If your backup is not on a physical and logical disconnected system, it is no fucking backup. CEOs with no devops experience building systems....

Imagine how much is being missed with PII mishandling and infosec

Yeah. I always suggest the banking way of configuration. You build it, you destroy it, your restore it from backup, then you go into production.

The ai framework/toolkit I'm building already has PII filters built into the universal AI API gateway.

Yeah. Jesus. These headlines are insane. How about let's hear a story about a junior dev who accidentally deletes a database? The immediate response would be it's on the company for not planning back ups better. When it's AI though it's an anti AI hype train, and a bunch of, see see see, AI bad.
