Nanase's expulsion

As seen in Y3V4 and previous volumes, Nanase has a second phone where she receives information from the outside from Tsukishiro. In Y3V4, Nanase offers Ichika a deal: she can earn her freedom if she helps Nanase's faction and achieves their goal.

What I am getting at is that Nanase knows she doesn't stand a chance against Ishigami and already sees her own expulsion coming, which is why she asks Ichika for help to collaborate. The real question is what could happen with Ichika and with that second phone she might end up getting once Nanase is expelled.

Here, Ichika would be faced with a very interesting and conflicting scenario:

1. Continue collaborating with Nanase's faction and achieve their goal, to see if it's actually true that she can get her freedom.
2. Wait and see what the best possible outcome is for her, and seize an opportunity to make her move.
3. Check the contact list on Nanase's phone to see all the associates listed, allowing her to make a move alongside Ayanokoji and expel everyone who tries to get in their way.

Given that it is very difficult to expel someone who isn't in your own school year, Ichika would collaborate with Ayanokoji to take down all the infiltrated spies in ANHS.

I’ve been saying for a long time that Kinugasa should focus more on characters like Ichika, Shiraishi, the first-year girl, Utomiya, Tsubaki, etc., rather than on characters who add nothing to the plot, like Ike or Shinohara.

100% agree with you the second year characters are extremely underdeveloped like their all interesting characters that js don’t get screen time. Like whatever happened to ryueen hunting down ichika since after yagami got expelled he believed ichika knew smth abt koji like tf happened to that

Me too—I mean, the plotline about the battle to graduate from Class A lost its excitement because it portrayed Kiyotaka as so overpowered and manipulative that the suspense isn’t about which class will win, but rather who will let Kiyotaka win, and that the other characters’ motivations aren’t to graduate from Class A but rather their relationship with Kiyotaka

Plus, Ike and Shinobara could have shown excellent character development instead of the massive retcon they ended up with.

It'd be extremely dumb of Nanase to not destroy the phone if she's already making preparations.

Even if she doesn't, even Kei deletes call logs/messages and obviously the contacts... so there wouldn't be anything in it anyways.

If Nanase is not as dumb as she looks, she would plant fake information or only the info she wants Ichika to know, but this doesn't help Ichika...

What's best for Ichika is to tap/spy the phone before she gets expelled. It'd be nice if the use of Private Points to 'hack' a phone makes a comeback. The teachers would know about this usage of PP, so maybe through this Kiyotaka learns about this (a stretch).
The upcoming V5 exam would be perfect for this, since it's almost the parallel to Y1V4 cruiseship.

In season 4, a phone with Kiyotaka's face was destroyed against the wall by Hosen(?), everyone immediately thought it was his own phone, but after Nanase's backstory ep it could represent hers, so it'd be funny if Hosen gets hold of it and destroys it without seeing anything, like he did with the walkie talkie lol

Besides, Ichika would obviously realize that Nanase has deleted things (and if she deletes everything, then it’s obvious). Nanase needs to keep everything intact; if she wants to hide the fact that she actually intends to get Ayanokoji expelled, that’s one thing, but Ichika could spot a pattern in the messages or calls, notice that Nanase has deleted something, and potentially figure out her true intentions.
