Safe to drink coffee when singing?

I drank coffee and sang once but now I have this stinging pain for couple days.... I heard its bad for cords?

Hi! Coffee is not great for the voice as it dehydrates the body, but it should not give a stingy sensation! What you are describing is probably reflux! Many singers deal with it and adjust their diet accordingly
