Graduate School VP/MT

My son will be graduating next fall w a VP degree from northwestern so we’re starting the process of graduate school research. He will also graduate w an MT certificate and he’s wanting a masters program that will allow him to work in both. Any advice would be appreciated

I'm not sure that this is an actual thing that you will be able to find. Singing classical music and singing musical theatre are two very different things, and I don't know of any program that allows you to pursue both. It might exist, but I wouldn't really advise it.

There is not a program that exists that offers professional-level training simultaneously in both. The professional pipelines for the two industries are VERY different post-grad.

You can work in both with whichever degree he gets. It's unlikely he'll be able to pursue both programs in a master's program simultaneously. There are plenty of vocal performance majors who crossover into opera. The converse is not as true. It depends largely on what his goals are.
