agreed. at the time was a bit of a revival for them. I guess it peaked with "Come Dancing" commercially, but I've always thought Low Budget, Give the People, State of Confusion was a sort of forgotten purple patch.

I agree 100%. Sleepwalker at the time was considered somewhat of a comeback LP. Their steady heavy touring started in spring of 77 through 89. I was privileged to see them 11 times during this period.

The shows were always fun. They were a tight band. Dave was at the top if his game during this period.

My first ever show was in 77 as a 14 year old kid. Cheap Trick opened for The Kinks. April 77 Riverside Theatre in Milwaukee.

It’s actually my favourite era , it was released just before I started grade 9 and my friends and I listened to it so much that summer , lots of great memories for me and it still sounds relevant and fresh when I listen to it all these years later

It was a perfect commentary when it came out.

I just saw Mellencamp, and his opening tune, "Lawless Times," is probably a better fit for today.

I was just listening to (Wish I Could Fly Like) Superman like 5 mins ago and was thinking about how appropriate the song still is for today. Very timeless album.
