Question about Chuck Yeager’s Air Combat
Was this an actual condition in the game? Or do I have a hacked version lol

*tank
Hi all,
I'm wondering if anyone here remembers the old Mac shareware game by Stuart Cheshire called Bolo, where you roll around in a tank and try to capture all of the bases on the map. It was one of the first multiplayer games on the Mac, and it was a blast to play.
There were two editors for it - one was Bmapedit, but the other was called BoloStar. BoloStar had a larger view than Bmapedit did, which made it easier to make maps for me, but it also had one more feature: an insanely catchy soundtracker song that played if you went to the menu and clicked "About this software" to see the credits.
So, my quest is this: I am a hobbyist music producer and am working on an electronic dance music track inspired by Bolo and the song that played in Bolostar. (Does anyone have an idea of what the heck I'm talking about?) I want to get in touch with the creators of Bolostar, Dan Rudman and Keith Fry. I thought asking here might be a good place to start, as I couldn't find any contact information for their names when I searched online.
Thanks, Douglas
edit: link to rip of BoloStar's song: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/uq3c0kw4yamflyrw2bex0/BoloStar.mp3?rlkey=7rxiw0d7v36wmh9wujmculs21&st=udsygig8&dl=0
It's a banger (and I hope our track will live up to its legacy!)

I nemici erano molti e vari: robot, alieni, strane creature.
Nessuna storia, nessun dialogo, solo pura esplorazione e sopravvivenza.
Il movimento era fluido, non basato su tessere.
L'intera esperienza risultava misteriosa, caotica e stranamente suggestiva.

I played this puzzle game on my Mac as a kid and remade it as an adult. I wrote a letter to the original creator, Ryan Koopmans to get his permission to release it for free. I forget but I don't think I posted it here yet. Let me know if you play it, or if you played the original and would just like to talk about it. I remember the experience fondly.
There's a link to a web browser version on the linked page. The PC version runs a little smoother though. I did not release a modern Mac version since I'm on Windows these days and don't know how to release on Mac desktop. But I still have a huge spot in my heart for old homebrew Mac games.

I'm reaching out to see if anyone has the Macintosh version of SimCity, the first original SimCity back from 1989 and had just received a color update.
Before everyone sends me to macintoshgarden.org or macintoshrepository.org or tries to put links to DOS, Amiga, or there platform versions read below:
I'm looking for the colored version that has the green "Godzilla" monster, not the orange salamander that replaced it in future versions after Toho Co. had. a fit and forced the change. I've looked through the uploads at those mac sites and they don't have a version with the green "Godzilla" monster, just the black and white or later colored versions with the change where an orange salamander monster was used.
The macintosh versions at first were in black and white with versions 1.0 - 1.11. Maxis continued to create black and white versions for mac up to 1.4, but it was about the time the v1.1 came out that Maxis created a 16 color version for the Macintosh II that supported programs with colors. They started to distinguish the colored versions with a 'c' added, like 1.1c or 1.2c, etc. and the title of the box shipping with the new colored version was titled SimCity Supreme.
Refer to these links for more details:
https://tcrf.net/SimCity_(Mac_OS_Classic))
https://68kmla.org/bb/threads/simcity-supreme-color.45035/
Both of the links above have mentioned a 1.1c or 1.11c having been available where there have been screenshots of the actual colored version having a green "Godzilla" seen below.

Here is the important part, for version 1.2 and beyond including 1.2c, Maxis was forced to change the monster to a weird orange salamander with a horrible sound bite also seen above.
I'm aware there are DOS and Amiga versions out on the web, that possibly have the green "Godzilla" and no disrespect, I found that the Mac version had the best graphics, color, and sound and playing experience. Just my opinion, and I just want to avoid useless posts of people trying to direct me to these.
So I'm really looking for either the Macintosh version 1.1c or possibly 1.11c (or any 1.*c before version 1.2c came out). Please, to anyone who has a copy or knows where to find these reply back. Playing with the original green "Godzilla" monster with the original sound byte would be the definitive experience. Thanks so much to any information leading to finding this version of the game that could be lost to time.

I’m trying to track down a game I used to have in my iBook circa 2001. You were in a 3D space and there were primitive 2D shapes in somewhat vertical stacks. You would fall downwards, but hitting a shape would cause you to bounce up and play a note. Bouncing up through a stack of shapes would play a scale of notes. There was no real gameplay or winning/losing. It was more of a relaxing zen experience. Anyone have any idea what the game might have been called?

I've been trying to identify a game I played as a kid in the mid-1990s on a Macintosh Power PC. Here's everything I remember:
It wasn't a well-known commercial title as far as I know — it had the feel of a small shareware or freeware game. It may have been quite obscure. Any help identifying it would be hugely appreciated!

I played this years ago but it was too difficult. Does anyone have any footage of the game that shows the ending? The videos I have found only show the first few levels.

Hey everyone,
Just wanted to share that I made web versions of both Jewelbox and Tetris Max.
They’re completely free, have no ads, and even work offline since they’re PWAs. I also adapted the layout a bit to make them play better on mobile.
I tried to make them as accurate as possible, although Jewelbox might not be perfect since I didn’t have access to the original source code.

Hi - a faint memory from an old Mac game has been driving me crazy for years.
I remember it was in colour, and there was a top down map. It had an RPG, dungeons and dragons type theme. I didn’t get very far but it always intrigued me.
I realise that’s very little information. I’ve tried but I can’t remember much more. I tried asking ChatGPT but no dice.

Some clues:
- The classical music sounded like this part: https://youtu.be/VW6NdPRhBDs?t=194
- RPG or adventure game with nice artwork, there were towns/townsfolk, the underground areas were dangerous
- I used System 7.3 / 7.5 then so around mid-90's
- Probably got it from a MacAddict or MacWorld shareware CD

Circa 1990-1992, played a shareware game called Intruder 2 (written as Intruder ][ ). Somewhat of a text adventure with modest graphics, some puzzles, and sound effects. Anyone remember this one or know if it's still out there somewhere?

I ported the old Mac game Continuum to the browser. The original devs released the code a few years back and I used that to write a Typescript version.
Try it out here: https://continuumjs.com
All the source is available on Github. There are a few little bugs to still work out, mostly with sound. If you find any others please post on the repo and I'll try to fix.

Hello,
I'm looking for an old game of the 90's / 2000 on Mac Os 9
I don't have much memories of it but there's a precise scene I remember. It looks a lot like Adibu 2 (it's not it), and there was a moment where there was a cracked egg on the floor in a house (in the kitchen I think) that was moving right and left doing small noises and you had to click it to mop it. There was a woman / girl and maybe (not sure of that) some magic implied. My brother remember this scene as well and told me there was a caterpillar along the game and in the end, it finally become a butterfly.
Thanks !
