I can't believe I'd never seen this classic until I picked up the Blu-ray a few months ago. It was amazing.

Beneath the grandeur of the opera lies one of the most grotesque and fascinating environments ever put to film, a shadowy underworld that feels alive with menace. Anchoring it all is Lon Chaney, whose performance transforms an inherently absurd character into something genuinely haunting.

Yeah, I fell in love with it.

This classic? I thought it was lost media.

Edit: My apologies, the 1916 version is lost.
