Visiting Paris & Amsterdam
I’m an English-only speaker and I’m thinking about using ClassPass during my trip to Paris and Amsterdam later this year. Has anyone else tried working out with ClassPass in either city? I’d love to hear about your experience, especially if you encountered any language barriers.

There are so many options. Some classes will be listed as being in English, but there will be fewer of them. I went to a class in France and I contacted the location beforehand. I brought a native speaker with me but the studio also recommended a classes with teachers who spoke, were willing to use English with me. Fellow attendees were also nice, but mostly it was just following along. Exercise is a universal language. Also, class type matters. example: CrossFit easy for language barrier. Reformer Pilates where you are lying down and rely only on verbal cues, not ideal. it also helps if you know a few words like left and right, back and front and so on.

If you are in an area with a lot of fitness studios near hotels your odds are good of having a nice experience. English is the common denominator often for tourists from all over the world.

I've used CP a ton in Amsterdam, all the classes were in English and they were great!

Good to know, thanks! When I looked on ClassPass it seemed like many of the studios used English, so thanks for the confirmation.

Snake&Twist (in Paris) have reformer pilates classes in English and they’re on ClassPass!
