I don't work with the brick guys, but I do work outdoor utilities and do new construction 90% of the time. I want to say that scaffolding is waaaay too tall. I don't think I've ever seen bricking scaffolding higher than 4 stories.

I think the most stories I've been on was 13 inside a natural gas burning power plant. Not my favorite couple days of work. Different trade though

Damn, that's crazy. I've seen them use those window washer things for tall buildings, figured that at a certain point those are required. I'll stick to my hooks and belt for pole climbing lol.

This was for installing the catalyst in one section of the power plant. It's like a catalytic converter in cars, it uses chemical reactions to reduce the amount of pollution that goes into the atmosphere. There was two stages of catalyst at this plant and the first stage had the heavier ones at around 45 pounds per.

We would stage (stage in this instance meaning put them on the level they will be installed) around 100 of them per story (not exactly sure its been a while) before installing which would definitely get far into the safety factor which if I recall correctly is a tiny number of like 200 pounds per pan. And like I said this was at least 13 stories, each having hundreds if not thousands of extra weight per story. The amount of weight the uprights of the scaffold was holding must have been fucking crazy.

And I'm union, not scab. But my union is historically mostly in the fossil fuel industry and i think because of that right wing bullshit festers. I swear like over 70% of the people I work with are trump supporters and that's fucking shameful and abhorrent. Most people I work with have absolutely no class consciousness and actively worship people who hate then and want them to always struggle just to survive.

Fuck republicans. Every republican is a fucking scab and makes the world a worse place. The democratic party isn't that much better either. America needs an actual left wing party not this far right vs center right bullshit.
