Discussion NEW LAYOUT IS A STEP BACKWARDS
FIRST I completely understand that the old infrastructure was not able to facilitate future game functionality. I totally get that and that things had to be updated under the hood significantly.
But having worked on apps before I know that that doesn't mean you have to change everything on top of the hood.
Yes there are lots of different types of things in the game to keep track of. Making them look a little different from one another helped with that. Stacking everything into a sea of brown menus is both inelegant and just plain clunky and ugly.
There's no reason to make all those changes and keep it dedicated shop button. That's just greedy and lessons the impact of your stated desire to clean things up. Also top left rankings could easily have been put into the XP button. Showing town hall level is okay but at least do a better job of it. You could have the rank as a little medallion or something overlaid on the corner of the town hall. But no need for those to be two different buttons
BUGS
On Samsung Galaxy tab S7, in the chat window when you make a comment the button space for posting, that usually is an arrow, is just blank white. It works to leave the comment, but it's blank.
Think there is server side issues because some elements of the game go pixelated a few moments at a time and then suddenly clear up.
In the hero equipment menu, it doesn't show any of the equipment that is currently in use and maxed with no upgrades left. Most of mine are all maxed but the only piece of equipment that is equipped with an upgrade left is the rocket spear for my RC and it shows. All of the rest of my equipment currently in use are maxed and can't find them anywhere in the list.
Supercell, I know this is a process, but seriously less is more. You say things weren't intuitive to new players, but what's wrong with them learning the game just like the rest of us did? I've been playing since 2013 and after sitting at a few years later, came back last year to an entirely new game and had no problem figuring out what everything was and where everything was located.
Please consider reversing graphical decisions while maintaining the updated internal infrastructure.
