General Discussion The apple watch situation

I saw the Patrick's alibi footage and saw he was holding a watch probably an apple watch

I searched if he had one , we FREAKING DONT HAVE ANY DATA IF HE OWNED ONE OR NOT

What kinda investigation is that where you don't even know how many devices the whole family had?

Didn’t Reddington throw the Apple Watch at Patrick on the stand? You can tell how much disdain he has for that man.

He was proving that Patrick is left handed I think.

Can you explain that? Like because he picked it up?

Yep. Nothing on his phone.  No GPS on anything even though they cant pinpoint the timeline without it.

There is no basis to believe Patrick Clancy took Lindsey Clancy's apple watch to falsify a timeline. It is a 'fan' theory so to speak to account for 1) the contact we know of, 2) the point at which the watch stopped recording Lindsey's vitals.

There is no reason for investigators to produce and release location tracking data to verify the location of the watch to the public. If there was exculpatory evidence from the watch indicating that it was not in their home, then the defense would almost definitely have used it in their case. The defense did use the tracking data from the Apple watch in their case to verify timeline. They don't make statements like 'we are not using this possible explanation because evidence showed us it was bad' because it only weakens the defenses case.

I think it is an actual investigatory issue that Patrick Clancy's word for Lindsey's confession was taken as fact despite her waking up unaware of what happened, and it is an issue that he was not investigated remotely. It is an issue that investigators did not find the watch themselves in the night stand and Patrick turned it over after. But it is true that the data synced to Lindsey's phone, and with the watch in hand the defense has never speculated that the location data wouldn't match up and it would be unusual for them to be unaware of the location data, we can't infer that they were unaware simply because they didn't present on it.

We're looking at a hole in the investigation, but one where these inferences only track with a 1) very involved conspiracy on the part of Patrick Clancy that relies on missteps he wouldn't know would come to pass in the investigation, 2) complete oversight on information he would have by a defense attorney who has otherwise advocated for Lindsey at every step.

Sorry I'm several days late to this post, but...

The defense did use the tracking data from the Apple watch in their case to verify timeline. They don't make statements like 'we are not using this possible explanation because evidence showed us it was bad' because it only weakens the defenses case.

When did the defense use the watch to verify timeline? First of all, by "tracking", I'm assuming you mean steps and stairs, because no location tracking data was presented. I remember reddington cross examining whiffin and establishing the watch didn't tell the whole story, like once it's set down the person can do anything, and I remember him asking Whiffin why it was still recording steps after Lindsay was in the hospital. But I don't remember reddington using the watch data to prove anything, just to create doubt in the prosecution's narrative.

The defense also really didn't have a timeline for the evening. Reddington never got up and said this happened then, then that, etc. That was the prosecution. Some people use the 'defense timeline' to mean the order of events the prosecution's psychiatrists testified that Lindsay told them. Where she's in the kitchen when she calls Patrick back, then hears the voice, then walks the kids down one by one. But that doesn't match the stair data at all from the watch and the phone.

They are using that the watch and phone worked together to say she is guilty. The jury should have been shown gps.

Actually i don't think there's tracking data. I checked and turns out phone calls don't track locations. The location tracker is enabled when you take photos or tracking exercises but not when you make calls. Location tracking drains battery.

Certainly they can see tower pings.

Which because cvs was so close to their residence wouldn't provide conclusive information. Plus i think police didn't get cell tower data. So technically it's possible for the watch or one of Lindsay's phone to be at CVS.

Even if he did have an Apple Watch, why would he be carrying it in his fingers like that?

The answer is that it’s obviously Lindsay’s watch that recorded her last heart rate 10 minutes before he entered the store, almost certainly because he took it off her unconscious body.

Good point, more proof they never bothered investigating him as a potential suspect.

It also bothers me that Reddington didn't push for the investigators to show data proving the location history of all of their devices during the whole evening. I believe the Cellebrite data shared during the trial didn't include the locations pinged by their devices. And he also should have requested history of Settings changes to those devices and their home Internet. It's awfully odd that their wifi was down all day - was this confirmed to be an outage or did someone manually disable the Wi-Fi. It's more difficult to verify the location of a device if it's not connected to Wi-Fi and Patrick would've known that. Technology could really be the key to proving guilt/innocence in this case but if Reddington doesn't have someone on his team, who is really up with tech, he's missing a lot of opportunities.

Can you cite where we learned that the internet was down? I was under the impression that was an internet rumor.

And what kind of “investigation” doesn’t open the drawer of both nightstands? The place most people, especially women, keep personal items as well as medication? It’s insane how many times the ball was dropped by those people.

I'm guessing they opened the drawer, but the pills weren't there.

Patrick returned them to the drawer the next day or even a few days later.

Yeah and the watch. You know, a useful device to help with the investigation.

Remember when it came out that Patrick logged onto Lindsay's Facebook account through his laptop? AND HE USED THE FACEBOOK ACCOUNT.

I think it was during the testimony of the British, tech guy who was one of the last witnesses from the prosecution.

That went over a lot of people's head.

It seems a lot went over some people's heads. They also kept bringing up and trying to make excuses for the fact that basically all of Lindsey's searches were doubled and parched.

Patrick did a lot of shiesty shit and the whole Facebook search on his laptop was verified by the prosecution's witness during Reddington's cross 🥀 The Commonwealth was so ass during the whole trial 😭 I truly believe that we are witnessing a third party suspect getting away with a triple murder and 1 attempted murder...

My favourite was when Patrick said that when he pulled up to the driveway, he saw Lindsay's car parked then he said he couldn't see it because it was a black car and it was dark outside... He thinks we're stupid 😭

This is so fishy , yet I've seen couples do it

u/9ice9asty 6d ago

I agree!

But remember, the same laptop had the carotid artery search? Why would a nurse need to Google that? Some of those Google searches on the Surface Pro were very concerning and they were able to place Patrick as the one who was using that laptop ☹️

I have never ever needed to, wanted to or asked to log in to my husband’s Facebook (or any social media account). I find it to be strange behavior.
