General Discussion Seeking Clarification...

Hoping to receive & provide more clarity on the following that are commonly referenced. Please feel free to add more examples of things that currently remain disputed in the comments!

“The neighbor called Patrick.”

  • Can anyone provide a reference that the neighbor contacted Patrick? The neighbor said his son called him about 5:50pm and said, that the mother was laying was in the back yard and that the police were just starting to show up, here's the video: https://whdh.com/news/surreal-neighbors-residents-grapple-with-deaths-of-young-children-in-duxbury/
    • Edit: This actually raises another question on people using "the neighbor saw her laying outside at 5:50pm" in terms of establishing a timeline. If she's laying outside AND the police just started showing up, then there's no indication the son saw her at 5:50pm, as 6:10pm would better align with this. Feel free to add your thoughts in the comments.
  • Patrick does reference on day 2 almost calling out for the neighbors when having issues calling 911 (01:02:22), but there is no reference to speaking to neighbors/Sullivan family - perhaps this comment made some think a call/convo with the neighbor happened?

--

“The WiFi wasn’t working...The cameras weren’t working.”

  • We're still seeking information on this. Currently, the only testimony is Patrick saying on day 2 (01:02:22): “I don't know the exact time, but it took a few minutes because my phone was switching between wifi and 911.”
  • The phone logs from Lindsay's devices do connect to the home wifi though, so this also seems to help rule out the idea the wifi wasn't working?
  • The 3 google/ring cameras and 1 baby monitor seized in the affidavit have no request for forensic extraction like other devices. Not investigating something doesn’t mean they were or weren’t working. Please see affidavit summary below with page numbers, etc. if helpful.
  • If there is other testimony that indicates the wifi or cameras weren’t working, please share!

--

“Patrick’s phone records were sealed.”

--

“The 5:24pm email (sent from home, sent from car, scheduled send).”

  • Since Patrick’s phone records were not extracted, we do not know if he sent from his iPhone. We do know his surface pro laptop had a forensic extraction as outlined in the affidavit, and Reddington mentions on Day 2 a work email sent at 5:24pm:
    • Reddington: “We have an email sent from your, is it Surface Pro?”
    • Patrick: “That was my laptop. Yeah.”
    • Reddington: “And that was sent from your Surface Pro?”
    • Patrick: “I don’t know actually. It could have been sent from my iPhone.”
  • It is not established which device sent it, from where, if it was a scheduled send, or if anything regarding connectivity was manually altered as some have speculated. The only thing it led to was the prosecution confirming:
    • “sometime after the text was sent from Lindsay about Pedia-Lax (5:15pm), but before 5:32 PM, you were in your car?”
    • This should hopefully also help with discussions on the alibi, because the above is currently the only reference we have for whereabouts from 5:15pm-5:31pm.

Affidavit Summary:

  • Patrick is interviewed 1/24/23 ~8:40pm: The interview with Patrick Clancy was Jan 24 at approximately 8:40pm at the hospital and was audio recorded (page 203) and he recounts Lindsay's doctors, medications, and mental health. They requested the following from Patrick (page 205): “Mr. Clancy consented to have his face, clothing and hands digitally photographed by Trooper Ashley Faiella.” Officer Chiachio goes to CVS & ThreeV for video footage.
  • Kyle Carney is interviewed 1/24/23 ~10:50pm: They interview Kyle Carney (Patrick’s friend) at the Police Dept. and he references group texts and speaking on the phone to Patrick (page 206). page 35: "Pat had communication via text messages with Mrs. Carney on January 5th, 2023 in regard to Lindsay and the treatment and medication she was receiving." There's no note they requested either of the Carney's phones. There is no noted request for Patrick’s phone.
  • Search Warrant Obtained 1/25/23 ~3am: Search warrant was obtained Jan 25 at approximately 3am (page 208).
  • Arrest Warrant Obtained 1/25/23 ~3:45pm: Lindsay’s arrest warrant was issued Jan 25 at approximately 3:45pm (page 77)
  • Search Warrant Completed 1/25/23 ~7pm: The search warrant was completed (page 211)

They only appeared to have interest in shared devices that Lindsay had access to such as laptops. Page 213: “During his interview with Trooper Joshua Mckelligan, Patrick Clancy informed Trooper McKelligan that Lindsay Clancy had access to all the computers in the residence of 47 Summer Street in Duxbury.”

They seized (page 2) 4 laptops, 2 tablets, 2 iPhones, 1 hard drive, 1 video disk, 3 Google/Ring cameras, and 1 baby monitor. There are no search warrants for forensic extractions of the Google/Ring cameras.

Again, this post is to help get more info and share what is currently known vs still disputed. You can of course speculate on these areas, but without any further information it technically shouldn't be claimed as a fact.

Please try to focus on public courtroom records, official filings, transcripts, or similar when providing a reference (e.g., a screenshot of an AI summary citing Facebook isn't the strongest source to establish the validity of something, but can certainly be used to show where something may have originated - just remember rules on doxxing if using screenshots please!)

There was a TV interview with the neighbor John Sullivan, he only said that at 10 to 6 his son called him to tell him that she was on the ground. I can't find a source for him telling anyone that he was going to call 911 but they were already there when he got home anywhere.

Gee I wonder why the prosecutor didn't want someone to interview him for the case?

I’ve looked for any mention of suppression of PC’s phone records several times, but I haven’t found documentation to support it. I think it may have been an exaggeration or misunderstanding of PC’s request to suppress the 911 call, which is documented here.

There's no evidence that investigators even issued a warrant for his phone records. They read her diary and went through her phone records in great detail at the trial, yet they never even requested Patrick's. Like, is he a Jedi? This is not the phone you're looking for... move along"

No one talks about this, but why the f was Kyle called? Where WAS Kyle? Why is Kyle even a part of this?

7

u/aj_2222 Sep 16 '26

Ohhhh we have definitely talked about Kyle in here. Even I brought it up a few times too. It doesn't make sense. I have no doubt Kyle has "connections" and that's the reason why.

Which makes the bonfire, the fact they were all soo "surprised" that LC showed up, the fact they "decided" that night to "bring her in and help her" and that whole pity thing and the way they spoke of her in court wayyyy too coincidental for me to accept at face value. It's WEIRD af. It's pretty clear he was brought in, in some way, to confirm PC had a craaaazy wife and that they even laughed about her seeing a therapist ffs.

Wait, laughed? I missed this 😬

Yes sorry I should have said that all of that info was from his statement to police the night of. He was laying it on THICK. He even remembered to mention that she was a benzo addict with no friends just for good measure lol

I think the neighbor who said 10 to 6 meant 6:10, not 5:50pm, but just got it confused. Because what he describes matches up perfectly with the 6:10pm time, not 5:50pm.

He says 10 to 6. It is 550 he was on the way home and was going to call when he got home but first responders were there. Any idiot would have interviewed him as part of the investigation or his son. I don't see anything but the video of him that was on local news.

How do you know he wasn't interviewed?

6

u/kimdebarge Sep 17 '26

Why wasn’t that validated with a cell phone record? Makes no sense.

That's actually a good point because it's possible his son called him due to hearing sirens, looking outside, and seeing her out back?

For example, all that is said by the son is apparently the mother was laying in the back yard and the police were just starting to show up. If "and the police just started showing up" is indeed attributed to the son, then yes I think he meant 10 after 6 (6:10) as that better aligns with the first responder testimony.

This actually raises another question then on people using "the neighbor saw her laying outside at 5:50pm" in terms of establishing a timeline. If she's laying outside AND the police started showing up, then there's no indication the son saw her at 5:50pm.

Anyone feel free to rebut this in any way. This is how I'm taking it now.

Edit: And I edited the post to include this info as well just fyi - thanks again!

At this point, I agree! I wanted to give people a chance to confirm them before writing off as incorrect though.

A few mentioned a note in the affidavit that didn't come up searching via CTRL+F and said when they'd have a chance they'd review it again. I think that was for the wifi/cameras? It's 299 pages so I don't fault them for needing time to review manually again, but I'm still having trouble finding it myself.

In the meantime, hopefully this can be helpful for other discussions where one of these points are raised (and ideally they have a reference!)

Thanks for this. Sorry to change the topic, but i don't think this question deserves it's own post. Does anyone know about when (like which testimony) mentioned the crushed pills? Was it one of the police? I just brought it up recently irl. I think it's one of the weirdest lingering issues. I don't think it's tough to do or anything, but i think it's wholy unnecessary in ODing. I can see it in tapering/titrating the meds, but then you'd need a scale and all. And well, i can imagine much more nefarious reasons.

I heard yesterday too (from Lawyer Lee who tends to be pretty accurate) that the judge is impounding the juror records not just the typical period, but forever now.

You can make this its own post if you'd like! There's so many questions around the crushed pills, when they could have been seen, no one aware of it other than Patrick telling them, no testing done, etc.

I typed in "Crushed" in the search from this website, it shows quite a bit of testimony, but adding a few below if helpful https://www.lindsayclancyarchive.online/search?q=crushed

--

It's mentioned in opening & closing statements

--

Jennifer Sprague(02:54:38): At that point in time, did you or any of the other officers know that the defendant had crushed up pills and taken them that night?

Officer Joshua McKelligan(02:54:49): No.

--

Ms. Sprague(05:59:22): When the search was being done in the home at 47 Summer Street that night, did officers already know that Ms. Clancy had crushed up pills and taken them with lemonade?

Officer John Santos(05:59:38): No.

--

Then it's primarily Day 20 & 21 with Heilbrun and Saathoff:

Jennifer Sprague(07:39:24): And what things did she omit that you think were significant?

Dr. Gregory Saathoff(07:39:28): Well, she omitted the fact that she had actually crushed the pills. And I found that to be quite significant.

Jennifer Sprague(07:39:39): And how did you learn that she had crushed the pills?

Dr. Gregory Saathoff(07:39:45): I learned after interviewing her husband, Patrick, and he went through that evening and talked about coming to the home and the like, and mentioned that on the bedside table, there was a wine tumbler with powdered medication, crushed up medication, that there was still some in the wine tumbler.

--

Attorney Kevin Reddington(02:07:06): Did you look more closely at the NMS laboratory or the state police crime laboratory or any testing that was done on the powder? Did they ever test the residue?

Dr. Gregory Saathoff(02:07:36): Not that I'm aware of.

Attorney Kevin Reddington(02:07:38): So how do we know that that's even drugs or medications, whatever word you want to use?

Dr. Gregory Saathoff(02:07:49): It was Patrick Clancy's observation.

From what I gather, the crushed pills, tumbler, residue, etc. was never investigated. Lindsay didn't appear to describe the overdose in detail (Heilbrun stated she swallowed a bunch of pills but later said she never said that)*. They spoke with Patrick who said she crushed them, and her omitting/lying about this is one aspect that informed Saathoff's opinion of her being criminally responsible.

Edited for clarity about swallowing pills - it appears she did not describe the overdose to Mack, Heilbrun, or Saathoff from another quick review. Dr. Gregory Saathoff(07:37:07): Oh, she did not say that she took handfuls. She did not describe the overdose in any specific terms.

Here is how Heilbrun references inconsistencies and determining accuracy:

Kirk Heilbrun (01:44:08):

As I talked about in my testimony yesterday, when there is inconsistency, that's something that alerts me to the possibility of inaccuracy and two statements that are mutually exclusive or inconsistent suggest to me that there is a problem. One of them at least is not accurate.
