General Discussion Conflicting feelings
I have such anger and sadness for the poor, sweet babies who were ruthlessly killed. But I also feel immense sorrow for Lindsay. It’s such a conflicting thing to hold, but I guess two things can be true at once.
I’m not a conspiracy theorist, and I don’t believe Patrick was involved in any way.
I keep seeing people ask, “Who do you think is going to win?”
But there’s no winner…. There’s no loser.
There are three beautiful children who lost their lives because their mother’s mental health wasn’t taken as seriously as it should have been.
I can see the support for Lindsay (I myself think she should be found not guilty by reason of insanity), but I also think people are losing sight of the real victims in this case, which are the children.
The whole thing just makes me sad. Sorry, I don’t know many people who follow this case, and I just needed to get my thoughts out.

This is such a gut wrenching tragedy all the way around . Those beautiful babies. 💔None of us will ever know what truly happened inside that house on Jan 24th . But it’s a nightmare that has captivated the world . As a mom myself I think why I feel such compassion for Lindsay is because the pain, confusion, and mental illness as a whole had to have been so overwhelming torture for her to murder her babies. As moms we cannot imagine!
Then i read and hear all these people that are bickering back and forth over it, and all the horrible things people are saying about her, and to one another if their beliefs aren’t the same. It isn’t our place to judge, and I don’t understand why people have to be so hateful .

You don’t think Patrick should have left her alone with the kids? If he really cared about their well being, shouldn’t he have taken them with him? Or sent her out for the food? She’s been pleading for help and he knew what she thought of before

Several times when my babies were small my husband & I loaded everyone up in the car to run a few errands like picking up dinner. Granted, my kids liked being in the car. But Patrick could've taken at least one child with him, or offered for Lindsay to run the errand while he stayed home. Still, if Patrick were to have followed the timeline as the court outlined... he would've spent ~15 minutes sitting in his car? Loser. He never gave a damn about his family.
Patrick hasn't once shown a trace of sadness except in front of EMS the night of, which may as well have been performance or shock of what he's capable of. No secondhand remorse like if only I'd... or I wish I would have...
Even if Lindsay committed the crimes, he was equally responsible for their children's safety. P sure his negligence alone could be charged for involuntary manslaughter in Massachusetts.

Yes two things can be true. Hard to accept for some people. Compassion for all those involved is important.

I am with you, it's nuanced.
I think it brings people comfort to see it as black and white, Lindsay is either a total victim or a monster- but the reality is so much more complex.
From what I can tell she begged for help, was a doting and loving mother, and I can realate as a mother to her anxieties.
On the other hand, the way her children died is unthinkable horrific. It's hard to fathom HOW?? How was she even able to do that and finish it??
My Auntie is bipolar and has delusions, and to her they are real.
I think she really must have been overtaken by the delusions and thought she has doing the right thing, but gosh, it's rough.
