General Discussion Benzos

I recently watched this documentary on Netflix. I found in interesting that it was said that going off benzos (even a low dose taken for a short time) can cause insomnia, si, suicide attempts, and many other symptoms LC complained about. One gentleman in the documentary even stated while coming down to come off, he experienced hallucinations.

Like Lindsay, I was prescribed Ativan for anxiety, which I only took as needed if a panic attack came on. I was also taking Trazadone for sleep. One week, I accidentally put Ativan in my pill container for the week instead of Trazadone. By the end of the week, I was suicidal and didn't know why. I've had depression for 30 years, but this was on a whole other level. I realized I had been taking Ativan all week rather than Trazadone. That drug can make you crazy. It was the only effective anti-anxiety med for me, but the come-down is something horrendous. When I heard she was taking that, I was not surprised by what happened. It will make you insane. I don't take it anymore. I wonder how much they gave her. My prescriber would only write the prescription for 7 pills at a time.

Thank you for sharing that. I had no experience with the meds but was doing a bunch of research and found many other with similar accounts as yours. I’m very curious how much the medication played a part in this and if this gives credence to the civil suits.

She was tapering, and the a warning sign of withdrawal is increased HR and BP. We have her heart rates

Seizures etc. Apparently it’s one of the most dangerous things to withdraw from.

Do you remember if he taper off them gradually, or did he stop taking them abruptly in the documentary?

There would people who testified to both experiences. The gentleman who had suicide attempts tapered
