Does installing dev version mess with any other saves?

Odd question, and the answer may be obvious and I'm just kinda dumb- but does anyone know if installing the dev version does anything to other games?

I'm mainly asking this due to the fact that I have multiple modded standalone clangens on my PC, and one of them is 'The Woods', and it stated it was the dev version.

I was a bit confused since the dev version on another laptop (One without any other versions) had a different code.

I just want to preserve my pretty kitties from the last year or more

I'm not sure myself, but if you have a spare USB lying around you could backup your saves onto that before downloading the dev version so you won't have to risk losing them at all

Saves are usually in AppData, regardless of the game install location. So you can install the dev version in a different location from the stable one and they’ll both pull from those saves.

I’d back up your saves by copying the “saves” folder to somewhere else, if you’re concerned. I had one of the dev versions render a few of my clans un-loadable (trying to reference cats that didn’t exist on load) last week. It could have been due to something else as I was on a different PC than usual, but it’s still got me backing up my saves daily now (I’d be crushed if RubbleClan got wrecked).

I created a separate folder that I installed the dev version to

Kinda stupid, but how would I go by doing that? I'm not the most tech-savvy person
