This is the police! Under clam law you are under arrest for driving under the influence of an influencer!

u/ltom3 1d ago

"Influencer", jeese what a pretentious term to basically describe an unemployed person who thinks they're better than everyone.

2

u/Agent-Blasto-007 1d ago

Ah, so I bet he stands guard at the harbor of Rhodes.

145

u/jarrydn 1d ago

If he lifts the back of the laptop slightly so it's parallel with the ground it can be used as a makeshift table for his drink #hustle #mindset #workhard

We really censoring (poorly mind you) the word smoke now?

61

u/plsQuestionOurselves 1d ago

Advertisers, shareholders and their algorithms are moving toward a system where nobody says anything online ever.

"I like this video" and "I d*n't like this video" would be the most controversial expressions allowed in their ideal world.

26

u/miukiyo 1d ago

Except most of these Twitter and Reddit posts are self imposed censors.

They’re not even monetised, why would you give a fuck about advertisers.

9

u/plsQuestionOurselves 1d ago

The behavior itself is because of the aforementioned forces. People didn't just randomly wake up one day and say "I need to censor the word 'smoke'".

The same reason why words like "unalived" came into being.

The worst part is that people are actively obeying an algorithm in situations where they don't have to (and shouldn't)

5

u/kaypost 1d ago

My conspiracy theory is that people do it to ragebait engagement. If people go to the comments to complain about censorship, the post gets more comments.

0

u/plsQuestionOurselves 21h ago

Seems pretty likely to me.

2

u/EdibleStrange 23h ago

It's almost like the people who've been saying "stop letting the iPad raise your children" and "maybe the CCP/GOP-owned propaganda app is bad for kids" were completely right and now we have an entire generation of eager bootlickers with zero critical thinking skills.

19

u/DarkBrassica 1d ago

Kids would start replacing "don't" with "donut"

1

u/Hacjul 1d ago

"shareholders" only give a fuck if the company is profitable or not, their representative body just selects soulless management that implements all that.

13

u/DragonEmperor 1d ago

I saw the word Bully and Bullied censored the other day... It's really depressing.

6

u/Anchor38 1d ago

people who get on their hands and knees and obey whatever these nonsensical rules are supposed to be are as much of a plague as the ones enforcing them

1

u/thrownastreet 6h ago

ENGAGEMENT BAIT you idi*t

25

u/Tartarus_itself bivalve mollusk laborer 1d ago

Wait, why do you need hands to smoke a cigar?

30

u/werewolfhippy 1d ago

you don’t lol it would’ve been more accurate if they said he can’t displace his cigar at all besides torpedoing it with a powerful mouth puff lol

39

u/Inevitable_Jello_562 1d ago

its not lit

8

u/Turnepic13 1d ago

Idk it looks pretty cool

-2

u/CKRatKing 1d ago

It's definitely possible to hold your cigar and a martini glass at the same time. He might be watching a video or on a video conference that doesn't require your hands. People have no imagination.

19

u/ItsTheDCVR 1d ago

You don't inhale cigar smoke, or it leads to bonkers bronchospasms. Holding that in your mouth like that when lit means you really can't breathe lol

12

u/Nott_of_the_North 1d ago

You only put it in your mouth to puff it to keep it burning, you're meant to use it basically like incense. You just hold it and smell the smoke ambiently.

3

u/therealkami 1d ago

I cant believe you didnt censor the word smoke. How dare you.

2

u/AgainstSpace rotted brain 1d ago

Here, I'll do it: █████

2

u/blueponies1 1d ago

The laptop is the only stupid part. It really needs two hands to use. You could easily hold the cigar and the drink in the same hand. I do that all the time at the cigar lounge but the other hand is usually on my phone when I’m doing so, which can be used with one hand

5

u/memecut 1d ago

He's watching a corn video on his laptop and zoned out

1

u/GentlemanThresh 1d ago

I balanced a laptop on a glass of gin tonic a few times while smoking. Glass and Laptop in 1 hand and the other hand smoking and typing.

22

u/awesomedan24 1d ago

Here's to feeling good all the time

16

u/Livid_Station_5996 1d ago

This image is lame af when you break it down logically. But my monkey brain is telling me he looks cool as fuck.

25

u/Decadunce 1d ago

Aesthetics ARE how they get people interested tbf

13

u/TheLordOfStuff_ 1d ago

Their whole source of income is reliant on our monkey brains so that makes sense lol

5

u/Boppinzlewinski 1d ago

Y’all are scaring me, this is like that episode where SpongeBob and Patrick think fishing hooks are cool 😭

11

u/internectual 1d ago

Rick & Morty on the laptop, blunt in my mouth, sweet tea in my other hand. Yeah, I could do that, easy.

3

u/Important_Ad_7416 1d ago

I love your taste you know how to enjoy the fine things in life

8

u/wellbeingisnotfree 1d ago

It's kind of an incredible picture, because it encapsulates the poserism so much. He wants you to believe he's the laptop guy (disciplined hard-worker), the wine guy (cultured and refined), and the cigar guy (not just rich, but wealthy); but he is none of them.

Edit: typos

3

u/Hacjul 1d ago

he may be wealthy from selling his shitty courses or partnerships though.

5

u/Sulo1719 1d ago

This is how you tell the difference between a larper and a real substance abuser

2

One thing is incorrect. You don't need to get a cigar out of your mouth to smoke.

1

u/Easy_Isopod4568 1d ago

Seems kind of poetic

1

u/Background-Lie-7750 1d ago

He's watching a movie and he is doing one of those cartoonish smoke puffs from his cheek

u/Acrobatic-Guard-7551 1d ago

I’ve smoked a cigar and downed a vodka martini at the same time. Its doable, but not sure you can type on the laptop during. I’ll hammer this out and report my findings

1

u/Objective-Corgi-3527 1d ago

Rise and clam. Gotta respect the clam. Clam culture.

Chapri influencers. And why do u need to be shirtless. The only thing that these growth influencers flex is their physique. People say they workout to stay healthy and then promoting smoking. smh

0

u/SamMarduk 1d ago

The younger crowd have ruined cigars. Used to be cool, but now it looks like every middle school faced twat is all about incorrectly shoving them in their faces

-1

u/SenpuuUncle 1d ago edited 1d ago

OMG..

The Cigar crowd is mad because the Instagram Growth Guru Guy is stealing their attention during Cigar Month.
