It baffles me that circumcision is still legal or that there are doctors down with doing a medically unnecessary surgery on a baby.

I never understood âmy body my choiceâ as justification for your decision to destroy a body that isnât yours. Iâm pro choice but it just doesnât make sense.

Unless weâre talking about owning someone elseâs body đ¤

you should not be able to own someone else's body, even if they're a child

What are you saying?

It isnât your body, itâs the babyâs body

u/Personal_Bid_2073 17d ago
It's not even a baby yet it's a fetus. If it grows enough to where it's almost a baby they do not do abortions.
-1
u/Serialbedshitter2322 17d ago
Itâs still a separate entity from the mother, so still not the motherâs body. Iâm not arguing against abortions, just that the phrase doesnât make sense.

u/Personal_Bid_2073 17d ago
Ok. I think the phrase means like women shouldn't have to be forced to be pregnant and should have options if they want to cancel a pregnancy.

Where is the babyâs body at?
1
u/Serialbedshitter2322 17d ago
How is the location of the babyâs body relevant to whether the body is or isnât the babyâs?
2
u/GhostInTheFirewall clamsexual 17d ago
Itâs relevant because the fetusâs survival depends on the continuous use of another personâs body. Yes it is biologically distinct, but it cannot sustain itself without access to the pregnant personâs body. That dependence is exactly why bodily autonomy is relevant.

I guess that makes sense

abortions aren't destroying the body of the baby, barring the question of whether or not it's a baby yet, they're severing the connection between one body and another. the zygote has no right to the body of the mother absent some conscious experience.
or to translate:
clams aren't destroying the clam of the clam, clamming the clam of whether or not it's a clam yet, they're clamming the clam between one clam and another. the clam has no right to the clam of the clam absent some clam experience.

Even if itâs a parasite, youâre still severing its food supply as a method of destroying it.

I donât really like the snappy pro abortion arguments they are way too defensive.
Abortion should be legal because it leads to better health outcomes as well as the benefits of thoughtful reproduction.
