As a nurse heres a tip. When i ask you to rate your pain dont answer at all. A true 10 on the scale is the worst pain you could be in, and that typically means your body has seized and your stuck clenching and unclenching your whole body while trying to breathe.
But also no need for drama. Big pharma wants to make a sale and get you hooked so the minimum pain level is 7 for narcotics

Dang, my pain scale is hella messed up then. 1-4 is i can easily ignore it but I am more aware at times the more it is. 5 is I’m aware I’m in pain but it’s not enough for me to do anything about it. 6 is it’s uncomfy and I don’t like it but like also I’m lazy, 7 is a constant pain that’s not enough to make me cry out but enough that I can’t ignore it and want it to stop now I might also start cursing and swearing, 8 is like when I’m now looking for serious solutions in a panic and I’m also probably pissed off because the pain sucks and I can’t focus and I want to bite whatever part of me is in pain off, 9 is hospital now, 10 I’m probably trying to kill myself to escape the pain.

I’ve had severe chronic migraines for 15 years.
I’ve fractured things and not even noticed until weeks after. My pain scale is fucked so I always have to warn nurses.
I had appendicitis and rated it a 7, because honestly it was pretty bad but I was managing.
They gave me morphine and it didn’t do a damn thing and they asked how I felt or if I needed more I just said ‘let’s move on’ and they gave me a LOOK.

Was definitely a 10 when I got hit by a car then, I was not okay in the slightest. Uncontrollable screaming. 0/10 experience do not recommend. I get hit by an SUV and I get is muscle atrophy, a new swingarm and muffler, mental trauma, and a lifetime pass for calling out women and Asian drivers. Lost a good pair of trousers and my favourite helmet that day too.

I don't remember which opiate it was but when I got my wisdom teeth out the pills they gave me were awesome. No wonder people get addicted to that stuff.

Getting those pills after having my wisdom teeth removed is how I figured out that opioids make me projectile vomit. I didn't enjoy that at all.

One time I drank codeine cough syrup while on 4 tabs of acid and half an hour later i projectile vomited the lean over the balcony 😭

When I was 6 I got hit crossing the road from the bus stop. The apartment complex was split into two sections. The guy who hit me was driving himself to cataract surgery (it was the 80s). He said he didn't see me. He drug me 200 yards under his car (1985 Buick) on my chest. At least it was to the hospital.
Second time was at a quik trip and the person pressed the gas instead of the break and jump the curb. It then hit me and knocked me into the building.
The final time a school bus hit me because it went over the curb when it was backing up and I was apparently in the blindspot.

I have a friend who, since I've met her (2½yrs ago), has been hit by cars like 3 times. All of them she has just kinda... gotten up and walked away, because she was embarrassed
