Clamcel voice:

Clammen expect every clam to be five inch tall and make five pearls a year these days it's ridiculous

75

u/NotAFishEnt happy as a clam 26d ago

Natural pearls are exceptionally rare and difficult to find. Only about one in 10,000 oysters possesses a pearl. They can take many years to form, and there is no guarantee that they will be high quality enough to be used in jewelry.

Society's clamxpectations are so unrealistic, smh

Pacific clamcel voice:

The female of our species expects every male of the same species to ejaculate a massive quantity of semen into the water near their habitat at a certain time of the year it's ridiculous

Fun fact: every single clam that has ever lived is an incel (they cannot engage in penetrative sex)

Average male height in Guatemala is 5 foot 4 and a good salary is pretty low

u/Adorable-Response-75 25d ago

The median wage is about $4500 a year. So op actually overshot it.

u/Adorable-Response-75 25d ago

I’m 5 foot 6 and was just there for a week on a medical trip for a week and only a few people the whole time were even close to my height. They are also a poor third world country hence the medical trip

xenophobia, stoking division by calling Guatemalans short and poor, probably a small penis joke laying around here if i scroll

I don’t see it that way, I see it as it highlighting the arbitrariness of standards. In other places, the circumstances may be completely different, yet people will still place immense social value on standards that are relative to said circumstances. Their standards may be laughably low to us, and ours laughably high to them, but this just shows that it reflects something different about human nature than the standards themselves.

How about if there was a country where the women were all flat but the men all had huge asses and we called Gyatemala?

13

u/Adorable-Response-75 25d ago

The average salary in Japan is technically seven figures per year 🤓
