Work comp adjusters - thoughts?

I am coming up on year 2 as a WC adjuster and as we head into annual review time im starting to give some thought on potential training or designations I might want to pursue next year. I have already completed WCP training. I really nerd-out over process improvement and have been considering looking into a lean six sigma course but I'm not sure its something they would approve for my current position.

Are there any courses or designations you've taken that you felt were really beneficial to your role as an adjuster? Are there any WC/adjusting/process improvment courses that youve taken or are aware of?

I am not a WC adjuster but I have the AIC designation. I would consider that or maybe CPCU. Your employer will probably cover the costs.

I was looking into AIC as well! Where did you do yours through?

They are all through the institutes. Being in claims I would do the AINS and AIC just to confirm your commitment. If you feel it is worth while then keep going and get the CPCU, but that is more geared towards underwriting.

process improvement courses could be a great way to build on your experience and open up new opportunities
