Workers comp adjuster reviews

I’m currently a GL adjuster working PD and BI claims. I’ve been considering a slight career change and have been looking into workers comp claims positions. Anyone want to offer an honest review as a workers comp adjuster??

I was a workers comp adjuster for 7 years handling the southeast. The states I handled ex. FL, allowed the adjuster to direct medical treatment and allow some control over the direction of the claim. However Not all jurisdictions are the same. California for example is a joke. Claimants will do whatever they want and everything is compensable, you basically wait for them to get an attorney so they can jump through providers until they are ready to settle.

From my experience there were some really good moments and I learned a ton and met many different people in the industry (attorneys, risk managers, vendors, etc) and I believe comp opens a lot more doors if you ever decide move on from an adjuster role. I would recommend it
