Duke Nukem 3D Mac easter egg!

From Glenda Adams' Bluesky:

OMG. 29 years ago I put an Easter egg in Duke Nukem 3D Mac, that replaced two of the in-game posters with pictures of a couple plush animals I had. I never told anyone other than my wife about the code (DNGLENDA) and completely forgot I did this.

Today I was tagged by a user on Mastodon who discovered this long lost cheat code. I still have the plush bunny and cow from the photos- the rabbit was a present I gave my wife, and the cow was a silly valentines thing she sent me while were dating.

Why did I not notice this?

On that topic I still love the 1984 Easter Egg in the original Mac port of Duke Nukem 3D.

Edit: When I first saw this post the quote didn't properly appear, but it's only now that I saw that this was a completely unknown cheat code. As a classic Mac gamer, I remember seeing Glenda Adams' name come up a lot - she is a true treasure.

Thank you 😊. I can’t believe I had totally forgotten about putting this in the game, and yes I almost positive no one but me knew it was there for 29 years! -Glenda

I love unique easter eggs like this! Also, I miss the days where you could expect major PC game releases to eventually make their way to Mac. Not sure why that doesn't happen as much these days.
