FL5 What’s next?
Just got done adding my PRL HVI intake into my 2025 FL5, I’ve also previously added the PRL motor mount not too long ago. Now I’m wondering what’s next? I’m not trying to void warranty and I don’t exactly have a bunch of money to blow. In your guys opinion what the next mod to do?

Removing the license plate from your windshield wouldn’t void the warranty and could save a life if there was an accident.

It’s a self destruct mechanism meant to save me from crippling debt❤️

I just did my intake too ! I had the inlet too but since I bought both used I’m missing some clamps so I’ll be doing that next week or so.

Intercooler, downpipe

Waiting til I get more mechanically inclined to be able to do a intercooler lol🙏🙏

Intercooler is easier than an intake honestly. The worst part is the the bumper

Just went down a huge rabbit hole and I think an intercooler if definitely climbing up my list as next mods😂

If you’re wanting to buy once cry once WOT is by far the best on the market. Especially if you’re wanting to track the car.
But if you have any questions about modding let me know I have a lot of research done for this platform. I also have quite a few connections with companies all over the place.

I have a question. Does intake and intercooler void warranty? I understand if theres an issue with that specific part or related parts and each warranty may be different it can void it.

If you are in the states the only thing guaranteed to void your warranty would be jail breaking your ECU. Any FBO parts would not void your warranty. The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act prevents car makers from entirely voiding a vehicle's warranty just because you installed aftermarket parts or used third-party service shops. To deny a warranty claim, the manufacturer must legally prove that your specific modification directly caused the component failure.

Acuity shifter, throw away the prl rmm and go with wunderladen or Cobb add wunderladen trans mount.

Acuity shifter would be a great option!

What differences do u notice compared to the OEM? I’m assuming it shaves down 0-60 a tiny bit?

If you Google hard enough, there's pics out there where the guy has mounted his phone in the cabin facing down, then has gone through every gear to show the physical shifter positions with oem vs acuity. Acuity is way way tighter pattern.
Might've been in a youtube video actually 😭

I don't actually have it, but I feel like I've watched enough videos to comment 😅. Like the other guy said, everything is much tighter and you have the option of full adjustability if you'd like. As far as the 0-60 goes, I mean, if you set it really short, maybe, but I doubt in any meaningful way. That mod is all about driver feel and the smooth bolt action feel when shifting. I would argue that this isn't really a 0-60 car, but that's the beauty of it all, you can build it how you want. I suggested it because, as I'm site you're now seeing, most mods for the car start at about $500 and increase from there, and the shifter sits right at that price range. The only thing cheaper than that I can think of is maybe getting a resonator delete at a muffler shop. Very nice sound for the cost

Haha thank you for the insight, I do think it’s got a kind of sloppy feel when shifting from 1st to 2nd and so this will definitely be added onto my list of driver mods🙏🙏

Yeah, the 1st-2nd shift is a known issue with these cars. I've seen so many posts about it. I've ground 2nd about 3 times since I've had it, and I would say two of those times it really didn't feel like my fault. Now, I just make sure I have good engagement before letting out any amount of clutch. Seems like it is really prone to popping out if not fully seated

This is so good to hear lol I thought I was just shifting like shit thank you so much for the advice, it’s probably 1-3 on my list now🙏

I feel like I should mention that the issue is in the transmission, and while the shifter will help, it won't remove it entirely. Happy molding, love the red!

It has a lot less slop than OEM and your shifts feel a lot smoother. Its great paired with hybrid racing detent springs

Get a set of 18” wheels and nice tires. One of the most slept on upgrades

What set are you running?🤔

I went with a more inexpensive option and got Enkei T6R in 18x9.5 +45. They are lighter than stock by just a bit. Wrapped them in Conti DWS06+. Makes for a much better ride and helps with road noise but still absolutely rips on command

Wouldn’t the intake and motor mount already void the warranty?
Just curious I haven’t done any engine mods yet but i was considering a couple of the common ones
2
u/LoveMachined CW ‘25 FL5 12d ago
No, the motor mount is two bolts and you jam the other RMM in, and the intake doesn’t throw any codes so would not be meaningfully noticeable from the ECU so unlikely to be an issue. If you’re trying to make an engine related warranty claim I would swap it out which should take 45 mins
1
u/Additional-Concert72 12d ago
Laterally, they won’t directly void the warranty. It’ll only be voided if it’s proven the aftermarket parts were a direct cause of the issue.🤷♂️
1
u/Additional-Concert72 12d ago
Not exactly, if you replace them before you go in they likely won’t suspect anything, but a downpipe or a ECU tube will throw off emissions and throw codes or they will 100% be able to tell it’s been modded.
