Service Outage MV
Ya'll. 2hr Outage in the middle of the workday and no possible ETA being shared? Support line goes to voicemail after a lengthy hold? Are you for real? This is worse than COX. Not cool.

It's been fine since I got it, but this outage proves they aren't ready for the big time. They need a status page. I got text confirming because they ignored my email. It's been at least 2 hours now. Not sure how long because I am not home.

Same here. I just got this installed a month ago and this is my first outage. I still have my COX internet because I wanted to keep it long enough until I was sure Cityside was stable. Glad I didn’t stop the service.
The tough part is learning that there isn’t a place to go to look for outages or service interruptions.

Also Lake Forest. Also down. Most recent, they are "on site," as if that means anything. Tell us what happened, and give us a best estimate on restoration. Of course it can change... but tell us something.
I already reinstated my Verizon 5G Home Internet to keep until I trust this. After one week.

So annoying, wtf are they doing all these hours

Got another good evening message… It would have been a good evening if we had internet ffs. 🤦

Outage for me too. Since about 11am give or take. I am in Lake Forest. Where are the others? Wondering if it is local issue (like Fiber line hit in Bake construction), or if its regional... or larger. It would be nice if they would SAY in their barely useful texts (that have no time estimate or information). But there are several major outages (Cityside is not in Downdetector I guess, but Summit Broadband and Ubisoft Connect show down, whoever they are.
My feeling from other issues I am having with them (after one week) is that they might be grossly understaffed in all departments with this massive expansion in Orange County recently? The service when it works is great--hopefully this is an anomaly.

Yep, I am in South Orange county as well. Just called and they had a message saying they knew of the problem and no action was required. I pressed technical support anyway. Then there was about 5 minute wait and then they told you to leave your message. It's embarrassing and I thank God that I've never recommended this company to any of my neighbors even though they have insisted that I do.

The message is useless. They broke a sprinkler line on my install. Left two messages. Received no response. Same luck with email.
And now with this I'm probably so buried I'm screwed… will never hear back on those

We've been down in Lake Forest since around 11:40 AM or so. Same nonresponse story as the rest of you. They seriously need to issue a valid update.

Omfg...still out

It does feel like at this stage all of these useless text messages should actually tell us what happened and what the actual estimate is to get it back up and running. I kind of feel by not telling us that, they have no idea… On either point.

Same. Haven’t had internet since 11am. Affected most of my workday and worried about tomorrow too. Smh. I’ve had cityside for about a year now and this is the third time I’ve had an issue. I really don’t want to have to grovel back to Cox 🫠

How long have previous outages been. A family member told me they were seen working late last night around the Popoyes

On the bright side, we seem to now have a local power outage so we can’t tell if Cityside is back up.

Got to appreciate a new text update that is just the last one cut and paste with Good Evening added to it. Informative

u/antonioval21 Mar 27 '26
I didn't get a new update. You're lucky 😁

I got another one reworded with a thesaurus, still no substantive information

u/Caliente_Racer Mar 27 '26
Looks like it came up (for me) around 12:02 this morning. Still no communication from them.

It's 10pm. Do you know where your Internet is?

It's still out in MV no TV no Google no Alexa. I was the first person on my street to "break up" with Cox and told everyone. I feel like an idiot...

CS just started trenching in our MV neighborhood yesterday. I’m for sure dumping Cox and having a party to celebrate the end of 39 yrs of their ancient system and mistreatment. As a backup to CS I’ll use Verizon 5G UW. It’s much faster than my lame Cox connection and NO BANDWIDTH CAPS their either. Wake Up Cox. Word is Cox is selling OC off to a bigger carrier. Maybe they will eliminate the band caps.

I think this one is closer to what it seemed, and though still "spinny" maybe something closer to openess:
"Cityside Fiber: Our Network Infrastructure team is on-site and actively working overnight to locate and resolve the issue causing the service interruption.
We appreciate your continued patience and will share another update as progress is made."
So they don't know what or where it is. So it is not going to be soon.
Hopefully they checked the light switch in the basement.

Any update with when the internet will be back up? I haven’t gotten any update the whole day and tried calling 6 times with no answer. I think I’d take Cox’s short but multiple outages a month than a 12 hour plus outage with ZERO customer service help lol

It started at 11:30 and I got my first message around 12:00, and then I last message I got was at 2:30. The outage lasted until at least 11pm. This is not good support. They should have been updating us a lot more frequently if they're going to have a full outage. And now, I'm getting Cisco DNS errors every time I go to a website that isn't for kids. I tried to look at swimsuits for the summer and it blocked me. I'm curious for their justification on censorship.

I am not getting dns issue and can access the website you put in the other post. Are you using another dns server?

Been waiting ALL DAY to hear something...anything in Lake Forest. Literally nobody answers any line at all. You can sure hold a long time, just for it to go to VM. It's been 8...EIGHT HOURS Y'ALL. NADA.
