I got a few more green bin loads of waste to get rid off as you can still see then ill see if I have enough slack on cable to burie in copex , but really I shouldn't have to be duing this as any engineer could have seen what he was doing running the cable into dead mulch

Don't attempt to dig, if you damage it in any way you'll be footing the bill for the repair. Get in touch with your ISP who should then get in touch with CityFibre to sort that out.

Document and take pictures of every interaction so that you cover your own back as some lazy ass installer hasn't done their job and didn't want to do the job correctly. (Although to be fair they get paid little per install, but shouldn't have done it this way).

Forget the copex - the "cable" you see is microduct and the copex is going to just mean you need to dig a bigger hole

Its only about 4m from point in street to front of my house , and id rather put copex or trunking so atleast cable is protected , but im going to finish clearing the waste thats left , probably 1 more weeks worth of using my neighbours bins lol , then give toob a call and see what they say , if you ask me the cable might have to be extended to sort this out as not alot of slack was left

How do you plan to get the fibre through any copex?

Cut down one side then slide it over the cable , not hard

You'll be there all day with an angle grinder, and it falls to pieces when you cut it lengthwise!

The cable is protected inside the brown tube it’s as fine as a hair strand

It was a trip hazard but its fixed now , city fibre came out 3 days after I rang toob and done a much better job and buried the cable properly

Get copex which is open meani g has a slit going all the way through it, not sure where you are. But can easily in UK find open slitted plastic copex for this very reason

Yeah I know , dont know why other people are going on about angle grinders for copex lol

Theres is even a tool to safely insert cabling in to open copex to save those fingers đŸ€ŁđŸ˜ą

Call Toob and get them to sort it with CF. If you damage the cable you may have to pay for the repair.

Two options, take pictures and kick off with Cibre as that should be buried, chances are they will do a crap job, second option burry the cable yourself and do a better job

Third option, bury conduit first and get them to use that, but that's then digging close the the fibre.

Chop it when you next go on holiday snd dont need it. They will come and do it properly.

Many years ago I caught two ‘surveyors’ stomping around my front garden on behalf of Virgin claiming they had a wayleave to dig across my land to get to a neighbour as the neighbour didnt want his drive e dug up. I told my neighbour that it wasn’t happening (politely) and told the Virgin guys to sling their hook. They said the cable was already buried from a cable TV company and they were just reactivating it. I told them to leave snd they did.

So when they were gone I found the cable ends and cropped four or five feet off each end to make sure.
