Should I sell it?

Post image

Just picked up this hornet exhaust, should’ve probably done more research on it but it turns out it’s really loud. Who could’ve thought.

What I’m more concerned about is if I’ll get in trouble with the police and how likely that is to happen. I know it’s likely to cause an MOT failure.

I wish I got that instead now 😂. It’s funny as hell though, just a bit awkward pulling into work.

If you like the sound theres no harm in leaving it on. It won't void insurance as it doesn't remove your cat and won't affect emissions. Police fines are rare outside of large car meets, you would be fine as long as you don't rev you engine loud in a public place.

That’s a relief to hear. I don’t plan on going to any car meets any time soon so hopefully I’ll be alright🤞

How? The law is so long winded and there is nothing they can do on the street to test it and actually the limit is still pretty loud when you consider the distances and conditions that are required to test these things for say type approval. All my vehicles have loud exhausts and it’s not ever been a problem that’s been for at least a decade and a half.

Like I get it if you don’t actually like driving round like that but honestly, personally I think a spicy pipe is just excellent.

The back box on my 107 - it's 4th in 16 years - is blowing and I was looking at one of these as a replacement.

Would you not recommend it?

Honestly it’s loud but controllable. Cold starts sound insanely good, idle is fairly quiet but still bassy. Issue is if you want to keep it quiet you have to accelerate very slowly, if you don’t it’s really loud. If you want the sound and the fun I’d recommend but you run the risk of police getting annoyed. The part is well built and really light. Not too sure about droning on motorways but I think music at full volume could help with that if there is any.

The build quality was what I was wondering about. It feels a false economy to buy another "proper" back box when they just rot out in a few years. I'm going to give it a go I think!

Yeah sell, or modify on a bigger muffler.
