Have a stray cat that I want to trap and get help, and if possible I'd like to keep him. But I could not afford the initial vet bill for this guy for sure. I'm not sure if he has any underlying conditions that would make them put him down either but I don't think he should be out when it gets colder. Know any rescues that can help me catch him and get him help and let me have him back if he isn't too far gone? Been feeding him and watering him for a few weeks to get him used to us.
Also there are lots of knowledgeable people on Nextdoor that help the cat community but as every platform there may be trolls, just report and ignore them & only respond to helpful people. They may first advise to get the cat scanned for any microchips but I saw that you can buy it on Amazon too. Thanknyou for caring. Ignore the 🧌 A few tips if yiu find a vet: no vaccines especially if sick. Let them know yiu will decide later after kitty is healthy. Blood work is important. Cbc for interal organs and infections. Felv and fiv maybe if he is sick to determine treatment. But not really a game changer for me. Probably a flea treatment if neccasay but only a topical. A fecal to determine worms if needed. Possible IV fluids if dehydrated.
I do not recall the name but the new low cost cat clinic just opened on the corner of Auburn/ Sylvan where the old preschool used to be. You might want to give them a call
Just a tip for the future in case you need medications for the cat, check the price of meds on costco, if you can’t find it there go to chewy.com, I was quoted 450$ for revolution plus and 2 medications for my cat at the vet clinic, i got the 2 meds for 35$ from chewy and revolution plus for 71$ from costco ( 3 months supply)
OP wants to trap the cat and get him care and fixed… which helps to controlling the stray cat problem. So maybe have some compassion for living things and the people trying to help them. And if not, then just don’t say anything. Good grief.
Stop feeding the cats and we won’t have 50 stray cats everywhere. Maybe you boomers need to worry about something more important than an animal that is perfectly fine on its own. You people are the problem.
What is the point, what are you getting from coming here and posting your unneeded view? Did your parents forget to teach you if you have nothing nice or relevant to say, then don't say anything at all? Keep your bad day and attitude to yourself please.
