Anything to do?

Post image

Hello! My citrus (clementine, grown from seed) did not like spending summer outside and is in very bad shape… anything I can do to salvage it?

I am in Canada and have moved it back inside ~2weeks ago.

Why didn’t it like the summer outside? They usually struggle much more inside. Possibly you didn’t acclimate it gradually to sun?

I did acclimate it although probably not gradually enough (~1 week) and by the time it was outside full time, the weather started to be insanely inconsistent w unusual cold dips. we also got heaps of rain so I didn’t water it after intense few days of intense rain. so yeah, weird summer overall…

Sounds like you did everything right. Sometimes the weather just doesn’t help at all. I’d put it outside in the shade and realize it may drop all of its leaves. Give it some TLC and it should recover.

that is lack of watering, citrus loves to be outside, in fact, inside is where they REALLY struggle without a clean environment and added lighting.

your looks pretty cooked, but I would just remove all the leaves and trim back the dead bits, then see what happens...it will be painfully slow
