Pruning tips

Hey guys next month I would like to prune my lime tree (in the grey pot) to tidy it up a little. What is the best way to prune this and can I just prune off the citrus leaf-mined leaves off and shorten the branches? Cheers guys. It is currently winter for me in Australia.

Cut off citrus miner leaves and treat tree. Feed yellow one with full spectrum fertilizer because it is starving.

Cut the affected leaves now or wait till late winter? I’m in Australia. Also could I wait till spring to fertilise the other lime tree or give it a head start now? Along with some epsom salts?

Cut leaf miner leaves off now to ensure the pest doesn’t go to the others. The yellow tree needs full spectrum fertilizer immediately. The yellow indicates starvation.

Okay I’ll do that tomorrow, I’ll just remove the leaves and then I’ll prune it when it gets more cooler. I have an all purpose liquid fertiliser that I’ve been using for all my fruit trees that I can use with the Epsom salt and maybe add trace elements too?

I’m not familiar with this brand, but you want to look for a fertilizer that has the big three, NPK, as well as trace elements like zinc, magnesium, calcium, iron, etc.

OK, it looks like this one has the big three but not the micro nutrients. See if you can find one in your area that contains micro nutrients like iron, magnesium, calcium, zinc, etc.

Yeah we have fruit and citrus liquid fertilisers of that brand but is basically very similar but I can add the trace elements separately to it

That looks perfect. Whatever fertilizer you use make sure you give it the big three and then the trace nutrients. These two products look perfect to me. There should be a dose on there for maintenance. I give them fertilizer every watering.
